VERY CRUDE & UNFINISHED
The fret file is very crude. I believe it is also way too coarse. The edges will dig into your feet board. I will try to flatten those with a whetstone. The fret rocker is also very crude and un finished. It has been cut from a sheet of steel with what looks like a plasma cutter. But then was never finished, flattened, or straightened. You can still see the inconsistent surface left from the plasma cutting. This tool will take a lot of finishing to get it usable.I would suggest buying a better tool, unless you're looking for another project. But HEY!? At least they laser etched their logo into the side of it!????

Worked perfectly
The kit had everything I needed to solve a fret buzz issue at the 13th fret on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings. Well worth the small price of the kit.

this file belongs in the round file
no idea why amazon bots wants me to rate the “sheerness” of tools like this. anyway, the file is junk (makes a rough, ugly cut) the fret rocker is fine, the file shields are fine if a bit thick. if you’re getting this for the file, don’t. if you just need the other bits, sure.

Worst Purchase I’ve ever made...
After fret leveling I thought that this tool would supply a quick, inexpensive, and easy way of crowning the frets that I worked so hard to level only to realize that this file does not crown your frets but flatten them even more. It wears off too much material leaving you with unusable frets and will make you invest more money into redoing the frets on your instrument. Please I urge you to spend a little more and purchase a higher quality tool for your instrument. This is complete garbage.

Cheap Junk
The file is useless & the fret rocker was not true...completely flat that is. Finger board protectors needed to be cleaned up quite a bit as they had sharp edges on them. Keep looking guys...Oh yeah, my wife's account, my tools.

Garbage, all the way around
File is crap, fret rocker is not flat, and fingerboard protectors are too thick to be of any use.Don't waste your money.

Fret Rocker not straight
The Fret Rocker has 4 edges of different lengths. I used the second shortest edge to test the frets at the top of my guitar neck. I found that every fret was rocking. Not believing that every fret could rock, I put the Fret Rocker on a flat surface and found that it rocked. The other three edges are not flat also. This product is not fit for purpose.

Maintenance on a budget
Very pleased, fret rocker works well and the board protectors are invaluable for when polishing frets with my Dremel like tool with buffer attachment. I have decided to make a bespoke full length tool to cover the whole fretboard for each of my instruments instead of moving it for each fret wire. The crowning file works quite well but it would be usefull if the two edges were marked so that you can tell at a glance which one is the finer or rougher of the two. They seem to clog quite quickly but a wire brush soon brings them back to life. Great set of tools for the price providing you keep them in good nick.

It does the job once for sure.
The good: I managed to avoid a very costy luthier job on my guitar thanks to this. Inexpensive even if you only get just 1 job done with it.The bad: 1 side of the file was basically useless, fret rocker is not that straight...happy that I checked it before... 4* because of the fret rocker... Could have end up ruining the frets on my guitar.Overall: It did get the job done and therefore, It saved me a lots of money!

Good set of fret tools
Fret rocker works fine and is flat against my steel straight edge. Other reviewers have said they are not flat. The fret file is effective in profiling frets after levelling. The only slightly negative comment is the slots in the fretboard protectors are too wide, allowing the edges of the file to contact the fretboard scoring it a bit. Masking tape resolves this.

Turned an unplayable guitar into a nostalgic joy to play.
Great value for money. The fret guards are a bit of a wasted effort, as anyone crowning their frets, will use a tape of sorts to protect them and free up your second hand.Just a bit cumbersome trying to hold the fret guards and use the files simultaneously.(May be technique)All that aside, the file worked well for the price. The fret rocker was also handy, due to the multiple lengths. Made it easy to measure high and low frets in one go, without having to switch to a different piece of straight material for different lengths of the fingerboard.Turned an unplayable guitar into a nostalgic joy to play, considering it had been sat for 5 years.
