21 LED Black Light Cat Urine Detector, Batteries, Yellow Glasses and Quick Start Guide

Hooooo, boy. On the one hand, the product works very well. On the other hand, there are maybe some things I'd be happier not to know. I bought this to track inappropriate elimination in a new kitten with transition issues. OMG, when I tested it on what seemed to be an innocent area, the carpet lit up like Scary Christmas. Every pet stain from 15 years of animals, including an incontinent fostered Chihuahua who found his forever home 16 months ago (you can tell by the dribble trails). I cleaned up every one of these spots with enzyme cleaner when they happened. But maybe not so much as I thought. Uggghhh. Now I don't even want to walk on my carpet. But, hats off to the company for an effective product. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, is very easy to operate, and has a good, strong beam. The UV glasses really help (again, ewwww) and its great that they are included so you have a whole kit in one package, which also has a booklet on getting the most out of the kit. I like that the company doesn't give out free or discounted product in exchange for "honest" reviews. I think it's rare for even a well intentioned review not to be colored by that sort of exchange. The only slight issue is that the light casing gets a little hot. Not burning, but warmer than I was expecting. On the other hand, you're not leaving this thing on for an hour, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue, and it definitely does the job.

I am very happy to write this review! I bought this flashlight to see where my dog had been urinating on my floor at and Oh yeah...it works very well!! I tried it first with out the yellow glasses and I could see all kinds of things!! I'll tell ya right now if you want things Spick and Span...you will need your vacuum cleaner and your cleaning supplies with you when you turn this flashlight on!! I don't have a Cat so the PEE stains had to belong to my Dog, my Lil Yorkie!! Oh goodness I found a lot more places she had been going at, than I thought she had!! Those pee spots show up big time! I had my hubby to come look!! Lol He couldn't believe how well you could see them! That was without the glasses, with the glasses on the stains still show up well and the glasses help to protect your eyes from the bright LED lights, I think that's what they are called! You will also see a lot of lint and things like that too, that's why I told you that you would need your vacuum cleaner with you! This flashlight did exactly what it was suppose to do and more!! So I most certainly would reccomend this item to anyone wanting to find urine and anything else that's on your floors, couch and anywhere else!! I'm a very honest person and if this wasn't any good I would definitely not say it was good!! So buy it!!

I never thought when I owned my own house that I'd be walked around in the dark with yellow glasses and a purple flash light scouring around for remnants of cat crimes. Yet here I am.I ended up in this situation after I rescued a very small kitten from the side of the road. Thinking I could find someone to take him in, I foolishly took this cat into my home, where he's run wild ever since. This cat has marked / peed on everything in my house. If you name it, it's been hit. Curtains, doors, floors, couches, beds, clothing, towels, bathroom rugs etc. So for the past few weeks, I hunt with this set up in the dark looking for the newest crime scenes.This kit works well but a few words of advice. I'd recommend doing this at night with the lights off. It really helps the colors stand out. If you've lived in your house / apartment / boat / trailer / tee-pee long enough, there's bound to be all sorts of weird stuff everywhere. Prepared to constantly ask yourself "wtf is that?" Streaks down walls, stains on chairs, splatters on ceilings; there's stuff to find everywhere. Once you start seeing the different shades, you'll get a better idea of what you're looking for. The smell test is a good back up. From there, just clean with whatever weapon works for you.As far as this specific product goes, it came with batteries and the lights bright enough to entertain my midnight pee hunting.

The support for this product is absolutely amazing. I was one of the few that could not spot the urine as well, possibly because it had been diluted with all the other product I had used. I contacted customer support and he offered to help me troubleshoot and work through it.. my satisfaction was certainly met.. Their followup was awesome. The packaging is also great, the flashlight is a very nice quality, it comes with the batteries, manual and glasses... I have now been able to see my female dogs urine on my new carpet :(..... (I was looking for cat urine previously)... my dog has become incontinent from old age over the last couple of weeks... and I decided to give it a shot... it works!! I can see it all.. gross..but awesome! Thanks so much for putting so much heart into the product. The packaging is neat, and everything is well packaged with lots of instructions and thank you's for trying the product. I would highly recommend purchasing from this vendor. You have nothing to lose... except for maybe some urine stains/stink from your home by finally being able to track it all down :)

I've used a bar-style blacklight (bought a decade ago from Nature's Miracle) in the past to locate pet urine stains. That was difficult to use because it had to be plugged in, so I couldn't roam the house with it. I thought this would be a big improvement. I do like that it's very portable, and I the amber glasses do help to increase the visibility. It's nowhere near as easy to spot stains with this as with the bar light. I don't have any information about how those compare wattage-wise. I don't know whether the flashlight needs more bulbs or a different kind of bulb. I would give this three stars based only on the light. But I have to give it one extra star for the excellent customer service. The manufacturer sent me a user manual by email, although it arrived a couple of days later than the light. I replied to the email with some criticisms and got a very nice, very professional response. I think this is a company that wants to do the right thing, and would definitely buy from them again.
