not worth the money
for 70 bucks(including tax)really not worth it, shipping was great can't complain about that but the reel itself isn't worth the money..breaker fuse is placed on the cord itself (not the unit as described) and is to close to the plug end making it stand to far out from the outlet, it locks in place good but when retracting the cord it hangs up and you have to coax it back into the housing, while winding back in you have to work the cord side to side in order for it to coil back up other wise it will coil up in one spot and keep stopping then you have to pull the cord back out and start over until you get it wound back in ...it's worth investing more money and buying a reel with a stronger spring for recoil and guides that work.

Retracting need improvement.
PRO: It is 12ga and 40 ft long so covers most of my needs without additional cord.CON: It has yet to fully rewind itself on the 1st try, Due to lack of oscillating cable feed it wants to wind it self to one side or the other, and will fill the spool unevenly and binds/stops to outer case with more cord still needing to be wound. It takes multiple attempts to get it fully wound up.

Not as pictured and it takes a few tries to get it to retract.
For the good: the plastic housing is heavy, the bracket is removable for installation (you have to figure that out for yourself-take out the 2 screws that line up with the plugs holding the bracket into the housing), and the wire is heavy gauge and long enough to reach anywhere in the garage. For the bad: The circuit breaker is mounted in a box at the end of the plug which is not how it is pictured. I wanted to pass it through the countertop of my workbench and even by taking off the housing I still had to make a fairly large hole to accomodate it. The retraction takes a few tries to get it to fully wind in. By the time I had it installed and tried it I wasn't going to take it down and return it.In the end it makes for an extra outlet for when I need to vacuum the cars or run the pressure washer but it doesn't work nearly as well as my retactable air line or hose. I guess it's easier than wrapping the cord up by hand. It's not horrible but I wouldn't buy it again.

Mixed opinion on this one...
I purchased two...one works great. The other was returned because the mechanism that prevents the cord from retracting did not work.I am batting 500. I need to replace the one that i had to return but do not know if i want to take a chance or change brands. And it has been out of stock or more expensive then when i originally purchased. Not entirely satisfied with this one.I will say the one that i kept has been working great for 3 months and is a pleasure to use.

Pros:- This is a solid piece of equipment.- The image doesn't show it, but there's a circuit breaker in the inlet cord.- If you're mounting this on a ceiling then you can move the black stop further up the cord so that it doesn't accidentally roll up all the way.- The bracket has 3 mounting holes: Two are visible in the image, they are the key-hole type. There's an additional regular round hole in the center, if you use that then the bracket can't slide off, which is important for ceiling mounting.Cons:- Minor: The black swivel bracket is not easily removable, for installation it would be nice if it was.

Not worth the money. Has design flaws.
I've had this just under a year and had used it maybe a dozen times until the clicking mechanism stopped holding the cord in the out position. When it was working the cord was always getting stuck during the reeling in process forcing me to pull it back out and guide it in. To contrast I have a $50 Harbor freight 50' hose reel which is effortless to use and gets used and abused far harder than this. Now I'm trying to get manufacturing support via email from China. Wish me luck.

Sometimes the cord gets snagged on the inside of the casing when retracting so i have to pull it back out and make it coil evenly side to side. The air reel from this same company has a gizmo inside that does this automatically.

Dangerous and does not work properly.
This reel is terrible in a paint and custom motorcycle shop. Out of no where, with no one around, it has retracted spontaneously. It clanged and banged its way across the shop, hitting all of the motorcycles. The second time it happened, it hit freshly painted tanks and fenders. Now we only utilize it for quick uses and then we have to retract it all back up immediately, so it doesn’t damage any more of our work. This totally defeats the purpose of having something like this to help with shop efficiency.
