Good but incomplete map
I purchased this map for use with the Astronomical League Moon Observation program. The only issue I've had is that the nomenclature A.L. used is sometimes different from that used on this map. Makes some objects hard to find and requires further research, usually on my I Pad. Still, the map is a great help and a good value. I just was not aware that an object could have two different names. On a map, it would help if both names were displayed.

Arrived in good condition. I wish the fold out line through the left side of the moon face was more seemless but otherwise a good product. The surface markings are crystal clear and incorporating both a numerical and alphabetical index in large enough black print letters to read is pleasing. If you use scissors to open the package be careful to not accidentaly cut into the edge of the lamination.

Simple map but priced fairly.
This product is relatively simple. It is a plastic laminated paper map with a single center fold. One side of the card has a photo of the full moon and a numerical list of features, listed from top to bottom. The other side has an alphabetic listing of the same features. It doesn't have lots of detail, but it is a good starter map for the moon that can be used at the eyepiece. I think the map is a fairly priced product, if you order enough items to get free shipping.

not cheap but a sturdy product that has held up to regular use for a year now
This was kinda expensive for what it is but I have used mine regularly for a year and it has held up great. I now would have to say I do highly recommend it. If you enjoy stargazing, this is a handy guide. Oh just a quick tip.. if you have a scope, try watching the sea of tranquility... there is more there than you might have thought!

What You Get
The product description is somewhat insufficient, so let's be clear what you get. It is an 11 x 11.5 inch bifold laminated picture of the moon with major albedo features ("oceans/seas") indicated with black text. Two hundred and eighty other features are marked with yellow numbers, and the Apollo landing sites are marked with orange alphanumeric keys. You need to reference the Numerical Index to figure out what feature you are looking at. I'm sure this must be good for serious telescopic observing, but it wasn't what I expected, so on the basis of insufficient product description I gave it three stars. This chart would be very useful to a serious observer, less so for people who are trying to familiarize themselves with lunar topography.

A very practical Moon map
At just the right size for convenient use and legibility this map is very handy in actual use at the telescope.I have used this map with telescopes ranging from 3 1/2-inch Maksutovs to 10-inch refractors and even people unfamiliar with the moon or the use of the telescope will soon be comfortable with it.If you couple it with the Field Map of the Moon (much larger and more cumbersome but more detailed) you will have all you need to explore the moon.It just works well!

Very convenient
The map is very good, although I would prefer that it be upside down to show what I see in my reflector. I have the other mirror image version for my refractor. The map is small so I can't complain that there are numbers instead of feature names. For the names superimposed on the objects I go to the larger maps by Sky and Telescope. Both sizes are essential for lunar observing.

Excellent Moon Map
I really like this map. I'm new to astronomy and I like the numerical and alphabetical indexes. Also I like how the Apollo landing sites are easy to spot because they are labeled with a different color. It gives enough information without being overwhelming.

Sky & Telescope's Moon Map, Laminated
A must to all budding Astronomers especially those specialising in the Moon. A good reference tool. The fact that it is laminated helps on the damp evenings under the red torch!Would recommend this product!

Folding laminate is not a good idea.
Only shame is that the map folds creating a crease a third acoss the lamiated map. Still it's worth the money

286 Points of Reference
A very clear and useful little guide with 286 places listed. I just wish that all the Lunar 100 Objects were included.
