Good mount with no instructions
I use this to hold a 7" tablet. It holds the tablet very steady, better positioned, and with less shaking on my center vents compared to the slide and mechanical clamp models which have longer connection arms. I tried the mount with my tablet vertical and the grippers on the sides. It held solidly but I prefer the screen horizontally oriented better. I use my tablet with its GPS sensor and Google Maps offline for long road trips. The cable attachment tab is a nice touch. When I remove the tablet the cable remains in place so I don't need to grope for it later. I got a back-angle micro USB cable to route the power connection out of the way.Removing the tablet is easy, but a 2-hand job to spread the spring-loaded jaws. The ball joint of the arm connection allows vertical and horizontal angular adjustment.When I received the mount it wasn't clear how it was to be assembled. After very close examination of the listing photos, I realized the the slot into which I was attempting to attach the bracket was the wrong one. If the curved little tab would break if you tried to insert the bracket.The photo shows the vent attach bracket rotated upside down to show the tab for connecting the power/data cable draped downward from the holder and the upper U-shaped one is for the round bracket tab. A white cable is used to show the cable tab more clearly. A slot is in the one of the bracket's bumpers allows vertically mounted devices with top or bottom usb connections to be connectedI think that is is a good value and would recommend it for those who don't want to use Kope's CD mount.

GPS holder easily breaks
Bought two, both broke within two weeks.The unit basically consist of two parts: the expandable GPS holder and a plastic piece that on one end connects to the holder and the other end connects to the vent. The problem is where the plastic piece connects to the back GPS holder. A small plastic tang that holds the connector to the back of the GPS holder breaks. Then the GPS holder will not stay attached to the vent connector. This renders the unit useless, which is unfortunate because both the expandable GPS holder and the actual vent attachment are well made. There should be a better method to attach the vent connector to the back of the adjustable GPS holder.

Solid vent mount for the price
For the price, I’d recommend. It opens wide, so I used it to mount iPad pro 10 inch in the car. It feels very secure, but you need two hands to mount. You can mount a phone verticaly. My order arrived with damaged hook at the back, but the seller replaced it at no cost.
