Outstanding Product
I restore antique radios as a hobby. I had a radio that had a missing piece of veneer on the right hand side of the cabinet on the lower front side. The cabinet for this radio has such beautiful wood that I really needed to make the repair and do it correctly.I purchased the Coconix Floor and Furniture Repair Kit figuring the best I could do was to fill the hole and throw some paint on it and hope for the best.Well something different actually happened. I filled in the hole (crater) with the Coconix putty and let it dry for about 2 hours. The results were as expected, l the repair stood out like a sore thumb. Disappointed but I was not really worried at this point as I still had the ability to mix the paint and had high hopes that I could at least hide the putty as much as I could. Now mixing the paint was fun. The paint is supplied is packaged in small easy to handle tubes with a very fine nozzle that allows you to squeeze out just the amount of paint you need instead of making more of the paint mix you would need. After a few tries with various different colors I obtained a match that was so close to the original cabinet color that it was difficult to see where the repair was. The paint was still a little thick for surface painting, I could have used the supplied spatula, but I decided to add a bit is water to the paint which worked out well. This allowed me to provide finite paint job with exacting results and not over painting the repair area. I needed to simulate the wood grain of the cabinet and used the darkest color in the kit and a very fine artist brush to complete the detail work After the paint dried I really could not tell where the repair was made. In the past I just used toner over wood putty for repairs, yep you could still see the repair but at least I attempted to complete the repair. I now I have a better solution that is easy to use and provides exacting results. The Coconix Floor and Furniture Repair Kit is a simple cost effective and yet a total repair solution for my restoration projects. It is easy to use if you follow the directions. Remember if you use the putty to follow the directions as it will harden rapidly. I found the paint dries a bit darker than needed, so mix the paint a tad lighter than needed. If you make a mistake with the color don’t worry as a bit of water on a clean cloth will remove your miss-judgement in color,. Just adjust the color and move on. This is a great product and they even offer and E-Book on how to use their product.

I’m impressed, worked well for us!
Overall I’m super happy with this product! We just installed snap together “hardwood” floors and had an accident where a heavy mirror fell over and chipped a piece of the wood. Tearing up the entire section was out of the question so I ordered this product based on the high reviews in hopes it would make this chip less noticeable. My husband told me to “sharpie” the chip but I’m a bit of a perfectionist so sharpie was not going to cut it.The directions for this were super simple and I found color matching to be relatively easy. I applied the putty first (a little bit awkward and trial by error but I think I ended up doing it right). Let it dry overnight to be sure then mixed up the paint (if it was real hardwood or any other area I would have sanded it for smoothness first but I couldn’t do that. The only issue I had which may have been user error was the paint was pretty thick and a bit goopy going on. It was difficult to get the area smooth with the paint brush used. Next time I might use one of my own little brushes. The color was a bit darker than I had hoped for but that was entirely my mixing not the products fault. Here is a finished picture. No it’s not perfect but it is good enough for me and much better than just a sharpie. Hopefully this will protect the floor chipped area better than a marker. Now I’m looking around at other furniture pieces that have been scratched or chipped knowing I’ve got the tools to mend them!!Because I was so impressed with this I decided to order also the company’s brown leather/vinyl patch kit as our recliner has a hole and so does my leather seat in my car! I’ll be excited if I can patch these without having to buy a new chair or pay high reupholster price for my car seat.

OK When You're In A Pinch.. but some things to know...
1. Dries too quickly. While I was using my color wheel/color theory training from art class (years ago) and trying to make a color match, the medium would dry up rapidly making it very hard to take the time needed to prepare a matching shade.2. The color "recipe" grid provided in the instructions is not super accurate but it provides a launching point for how to mix the colors to achieve different shades.3. The paint is opaque & chalky when it dries (which, of course, you'll put a finish over it in the end) - this will occlude any graining or figuring in the wood. Therefore, I do not recommend using this on figured veneers unless it's just to touch up a tiny spot. It cannot be feathered into the wood - it makes it cloudy & creates a bigger eyesore. I would recommend Mohawk products for touch ups on fine woods/furniture/antiques if the damage is in a conspicuous spot.4. I'm not saying don't try this, I just don't recommend it for fine woods/veneers. Floors, inconspicuous spots that would be hard to see to begin with - sure. Give it a go.5. Highly recommend using a clear plastic paint palette (sold on amazon) - makes it much easier to match to wood while mixing.

Art and fix
This is a simple system to repairing damage to your laminate tops. Instead of dropping a hundred or so to replace, the fill and paint does a great job blending the damage away. Playing with the colors to make the look of the repair match the counter can be fun. The instructions give solid advice to guide your repair efforts. The epoxy is a cut and knead so no need to worry about weights and mixes to get the proper ratio for a solid fix. Definitely worth the value.
