The problem with the pins is that they need a special crimp tool to ensure that the crimp is complete. Just using pliers can leave the wire loose and it will pull out easily. So you do need to solder all pins and sockets if you have not got the correct crimp tool. In fact it may be better not to try and crimp them at all.Assembly is very fiddly and some of the pins in some connectors would not lock despite many attempts to insert (including trying them both ways up and wiggling them).I managed to get the used but wrongly crimped pins out using a universal pin extractor tool.It would be nice to know which crimp tool to use if one is available as soldering can be very difficult and leave blobs which stop the pins entering properly.The good points are:- - They are virtually the only solution where space is tight. - They are very cheap

These are excellent if you have a little patience. Feel robust and used to replace shocking stock plugs on suzuki. Found it best to solder wires to pins then crimp for security. Fitted together nice and snug once wires were in. Only let down was the bag it came in. Much better to be packaged in a segmented box rather than have to hunt through the bag.

Yet to put them to use in anger, my own fault for not checking, others advertised come in a box with segments for each size and connectors. These came all thrown into one big bag so I'm going to have to thimble about to find what I need.
