Pre-cut convenience
Pre-cut makes these easy to start but the artwork for these models leaves much to be desired. Mechanically these are fine, but some of he construction is awkward. The ship on the sea was the only one that was intriguing.

Not for the beginner
As automata gos this is not my first choice. The paper is kind of slick and dos not glue well unless you use tacky Glue.I have most of the automata books and have put together over 100 projects. I liked KARAKURI by Keisuke Saka and Paper Models That Move by Walter Ruffler and Paper Automata by Rob Ives the best and would start with any of these book first. After you get the hang of it then Amazing Automata Pirates or Dinosaurs can come next. These books are NOt for young children.

Great for cutting, chopping and scrapping.

Fiddly
What fun. I would not recommend this to children. Some of the pieces are very fiddly to put together., they need a steady hand. It is a lot of fun, but needs patience. I would recommend an Extra-Strength glue stick for some of the work and liquid bond fast for the more fiddly parts.

These paper models are fun to make and easy to do
These paper models are fun to make and easy to do. I am trying to get my grandchildren do something which does not need a computer and yet end up with models that work. Children of all ages can find something to do. I'm a young 80 and have spent a lot time playing with them. I takes back 75 years when I first did this.
