You’re probably better off buying a different kit
The first kit was perfect but didn’t use the joysticks for Pandora’s key to 1up arcade. Second kit for Retropie was missing three large blue buttons. Lost a day waiting for replacement kit. Got control panel all together and then went to install knobs on joysticks. One side went on fine. The other would not thread. Tried different knob, same thing. Good thing I still had other kits because it took me 3 joysticks before I found one that threaded. I should not have to break out my dies to put together this or any kit. I would say shop around and buy quality.

Good for normal gameplay terrible for fighting games
So I've decided to redo my review of this kit. I advise you to please read the entire review before you make a decision or whether or not you would like to purchase this bundle or not.So I bought these for an arcade1up mod because at the time I considered just to be a toy project and it didn't really matter that much to me. To my surprise the build quality and functionality of this bundle was very good. I was playing games right and left mostly beat-em-up games and things like that. Now however that I started playing games like Marvel versus Capcom and those type of things I have come to find that while the buttons are perfect and they do everything expected of them they all lied UPS they all function well very good builds very good quality, the arcade sticks themselves do not stand the test of fighting games whatsoever for every 12 times I try to fire a hadouken or attempt to shoryuken or anything of that nature I might be able to make it work twice. I don't understand why but it comes down to the build quality of the joysticks themselves maybe it's the Springs maybe it's the gates maybe it's a number of different things but all I can tell you is that this kit is perfectly fine for 80% of what you want to do but as soon as you want to play a challenging fighting game you will not be happy. So I'm changing my rating down from five stars to three stars because of this however if you're not looking to play fighting games this is the best cost-effective option for you however if you want to play fighting games or do anything more competitive you probably need to look for some name-brand products.

Beware of faulty USB Encoders!
This button kit is currently installed into my arcade1up cabinet and out of the box, the kit worked flawlessly. A few days after installation the select button on one of the encoders now shorts out the entire controller. An easy fix was to just use a different button as that player's select button. Now, a week later the other USB encoder is starting to short out and disconnect every time I move the joystick up or down. There is no easy fix for these included joysticks as they use the 5 pin connector instead of individual connections.Overall, this kit was a major letdown that when working looks fantastic, I just wish it would have kept working.

Great looks and great quality.
I LOVE the way this set looks on my arcade mod. Great quality and very responsive joysticks and buttons. I did have to plug each controller board into a different USB bus for MAME to recognize both player 1 and 2. Gameplay is excellent!

Joysticks short out the board
The board shorts out when trying to use the joysticks. Completely unusable.

None of the components are quite Arcade quality
They are better than an old joystick and do give somewhat of an Arcade feel. But the joysticks are kind of loosey goosey and the buttons just don't have that super heavy duty feel of an actual Arcade button. I have had button one stick in the down position after only a week of use. The electronic components seem to work well though and I used them with Windows Vista with absolutely no problem. Haven't tried it on the Raspberry Pi yet as I am waiting for a HDMI monitor.
