Great lesson presented in an entertaining way
I was struggling between four and five stars on this one and the reason is because I don’t usually read middle grade books. I decided it’s not the author’s fault that I’m old, so I settled on 5 stars. This book tells a story about a girl who is in a software app creating competition. She wants to win, but doing the right thing may jeopardize that. Should she do the right thing and potentially mess up her chance at something she REALLY wants, or should she do what she knows isn’t right and hope it all turns out okay? It’s a great lesson that is buried in a good, entertaining read.

Fun read! Loved that it was a girl who build an app her classmates love.
Such a fun read! This was my first middle grade novel since aging out of the target demographic and it was such a fun, enjoyable read. I loved the premise of a girl/young woman who builds an app that gets incredibly popular. More ladies programming, please! I enjoyed the external plot factor - dealing with the bugs in her app - as well as the ways in which the app positively (and negatively) impacts relationships between our main character, Allie, and her classmates. I would've liked the characters to be more fleshed out but not being the target demographic/not reading MG books often, that may just be a me thing.

Didn't stand out for me
Somehow, Click'd didn't stand out in the way Every Last Word did, and I ended up feeling slightly disappointed. Click'd wasn't a bad read and I really liked the idea behind this story, but overall I found the story to be rather bland. The plot has that geeky feel with two of the main characters creating an app/game and the whole progress of coding and dealing with bugs in the code plays a big role throughout the story. The other main theme is friendship, which could work really well, but there were just too many cliches for me involved. I don't mind a cliche or two, but if there are just too many piling up it starts to get annoying and less interesting. Overall, I think Click'd lacks the little something extra that could have made this story into something wonderful. It's not bad and without doubt a superfast read, but not the new favorite I was hoping for. The younger half of the MG age group might enjoy the story better though.

Great middle grade book
Coding for girls done in a friendly entertaining manner. With humour, a great heart , kindness and empathy is the order of this great book. It is great for 10 plus children and above.

Definitiv nur für U20
Ein bisschen eindimensional und wirklich nur was für Teenies. Ganz im Gegensatz übrigens zu "Every Last Word", das um Längen besser ist.
