Automatic Aquarium Fish Feeder, ASF-1 with Analog Timer

I was impressed with the build quality of the unit. This is like the "Valentine one radar detector" of fish feeders, almost tank like and feels like it will last forever as well as adjustable to allow for a various size of pellets, flakes, and other fish food for both fresh and salt water fish.I feel I could leave for a ski trip for the season and come back months later and my fish will not starve because this hold enough food to last as long as I need especially with expansion options up to 1.5 gallons( probably for KOI ponds)This plugs into the wall and does not use batteries which makes it more reliable, its controlled with a timer switch however you set mechanically on the machine how long you want it on during a power cycle. So if you decide on 6 seconds on, even if the power is on for hours, it will only run for 6 seconds until your timer shuts off for at least 2 minutes then on again.There are 2 major adjustments on the feeder. The first one is one that adjust how long the feeder turns on for during each power cycle(power cycles are controlled by a electric timer) and the second adjust controls how wide the internal door opens. The door can be adjusted for allow for flakes, pellets, wafers, KOI food, cat food or even dog food if need be.I feel that I can control how many flakes are released a lot better than with any other feeder however if you have more flakes in the machine then you need less time to run than if you have few flakes in the machine.I would not be surprised if Seaworld, major aquariums or petstores used something like this for their tank since its so bulletproof.I have used several different brands and this one is by far the best.

There is a quarter inch gap between the roller and the food shoot - all food I've tried so far just drains into my fish tank with no control on volume, the device is acting like an expensive funnel.. given the good reviews, I e contacted the seller to see if my unit is missing something or I am misinterpreted what's suppose to happen, and will update based on response, however currently I would not recommend using this product for fish tank as any pellet smaller then a quarter inch will drain out.--- updated to five stars, company contacted me and helped me fix the issue.. great customer service.

This has been working great for me! It took some calibration to get it to dispense the correct amount of food but one you have that it's great! I just plugged it into a digital timer and filled it with food and went on vacation for 2 weeks. I like having the digital timer because I have one that keeps its settings and time even if it's unplugged. I like it like that because I know if I lose power while I'm gone for a little while then my fish might miss a feeding but that's about it. I suppose if you were really concerned about it then you could plug this into a battery backup power supply. When I came back my cichlids were happy and there was plenty of food left so I probably could have been easily gone a month and they would have been fine! I love that this feeder is made in the USA and it feels good to be supporting American jobs buying this! I haven't had to call for support but they seem like good people to deal with from watching the video on YouTube. I had a feeder from a pet store before this which didn't hold nearly as much food!

I bought this item because I was going on vacation and wanted to spare my relatives the bother of feeding my fish. I liked the fact that this feeder has a large hopper which will allow me to feed the fish for the extended period I am away. Given its size and the number of feedings I have programmed, I expect I could be gone a month and not run out of food. (I have a 39 gal. tank with about a dozen fish.)In any case I got it early and set it up on my tank to make sure it would work properly and therefore tried it out for about 3-4 weeks before I went on vacation. It seems to work as advertized. The only problem I encountered was that the hopper extending into the tank tended to fog up with the tank hood completely closed. When it fogged up, the food got stuck to the hopper and as time went by it totally clogged up. I solved the problem by propping the tank hood open about 3/4 of an inch, which allows the vapor to escape the tank and so now it does not fog up. Again testing it for about 2 weeks in this mode it seemed to work fine and the food did not stick to the hopper. I am now on vacation and only time will tell if the fish feeder did its job. Hopefully I'll return to well fed and thriving fish.

I had to go for 2 months long vacation outside country and none of the auto feeders for aquarium I came across were dependable. I could find Automation for lights, water filteration and heating but not for feeding which can support more than 2 weeks. Finally came across this product. I must say this is value for money product. Is strong enough and well designed. Good thought process had gone into making this product. I returned home after 50 days and happy to see all fishes in my aquarium live and healthy.

I was using this for my tank when I went on vacation. I pre tested beforehand to make sure it dispensed out food 2x a day. Timer was set while on vacation, came home to surviving fish, this has met my expectations.

First fish feeder I've found that has been very reliable , we use to ask our neighbors to feed our fish when we were gone , we bought this unit 8 weeks ago and its works so well we decided to use it daily and not just when we travel . Ivan M Green Bay Wi

It does a nice job. I'm controlling it from an APEX and feed the fish twice a day and it works great. All you need to do is add power and it'll drop the amount you set it up for then turn off power till the next feeding cycle.
