I got this for my dad. In 1992 we began watching this show and on some occasions we tried to tape it with our video recorder. Half the time the recorder would produce poor pictures. Heaven forbid you tape over something. All these years later my Father and I have watched this with good memories of the show, but not being able to remember the specifics, it being so many years later. This means we are enjoying them anew just like originally.This collection has every episode Rowan was in, including the special VHS only (at the time) TV movie where hegoes to Canada and becomes a mountie.Mostly these episodes DON'T get repeated on tv, it is usually the modern episodes with other policemen and although they are enjoyable, they are not a patch on Rowan his wife Kate and co.This collection is very good value for money. In total I believe there are just over 100 episodes as well as the feature length aforementioned movie. There are 29 DVD in the set.Some episodes have an introduction by Nick Berry himself and if you don't fancy listening unfortunately you can't just start the episode you need to fast forward.It will take you a while to get through this lot and both me and my father for whom this was a gift highly recommend.

Great series

One of the all-time greats as a serial drama. (We are several notches above “soap” here.)Those who were late comers to this 1960s-set series, and now watching on Virgin (in Ireland) and on cable services will want to see these early episodes. The incomparable Bill Maynard is probably the star of the show in his endless under-the-counter schemes as Claude Jeremiah Greengrass; that said, the merest cameo by a one-episode character is invariably cast and acted with skill and care.It scores in every department from set dressing to acting; perhaps the heroes of the piece are the writers: a few recurring names but duties spread amongst a roster of five or six; all of them faithful to the individual characters and to Ashfordly... a place that, like the Bates Motel, can lay claim to being a character in itself.Brilliant. If Amazon had a sixth star, I would award it without hesitation.

This seems to be the only set of heartbeat that I haven’t seen on tv in Uk very pleased with my purchase

This is what Heartbeat is all about. I have watched all the Heartbeat series over and over again, but they never show the Nick Rowan episodes, what a difference, I can't watch the others now. I'm on series 6 at the mo and watch about 2 episodes a day, I'm not looking forward to finishing as I won't be able to watch the series on television, they are such a disappointment. I dithered about spending all that money on a box set, but it was definitely worth the money.

A great t v drama with good music and stories.

What was not great was it was not posted on Amazon that it would not play in my "region". Truly a problem in getting a work around.

Loved this series and plan to purchase all the remaining seasons. Unfortunately all seem available except season 9. I hope it comes back in stock

Product arrived within the stated time frame and so far the DVD discs we have viewed have worked perfectly. Great series.
