8MILELAKE 1/8-3/4" Precision R8 Collets 6pcs Mill Chuck Holder for Bridgeport .0006

I received my set of collets in two shipments. All of the Collets in one shipment were nicely stamped with black fill in the stamping. Easy to read and durable. The second box was not punch-stamped, but appeared to be ink stamped with some minor etching material. The ink was no longer but if you held them in the light just right and squinted, you could see a shadow of a marking. Almost impossible to read. Some had no markings at all.I sent a description of the issue (as above) to the seller, and explained that I was first reaching out to them directly before I sent the entire order back to Amazon - and they asked for photos. Not going through that hassle for these inexpensive collets. I returned them and got another set that was all marked and looked much better - and for only $10 more.So I don't know how they worked or what the TIR is - never got that far. I can definitely say that the expected level of customer service was lacking (I expected them to ask which collets were unsatisfactory and replace them).

I read other reviews about the collets being of different lengths and marking issues. That is true The collets differ in length +or- .1562. The inside depth of the collets are all different and very from 2 inches to all the way to the rod threads. The laser engraved size on the end was almost unreadable. Only one collet was engraved with a little bit of black to be partially readable. The etching on the others were so light unless you knew what to look for you could miss it. I used a mechanical marking tool to mark them for myself. They came well oiled in plastic boxes. They all will work for what i need them for.Although they are new. If they are supposed to be the same length most likely that is why the size did not engrave correctly. I would recommend they advertise them as blemished (markings). My opinion.

All the collets are the right size, have low runout and engage in the taper correctly.However, you need to check the thread depth to make sure your drawbar will pull them tight.I needed to chase the threads down about 1/4 inch deeper to get proper holding.The other solution would have been to pull the drawbar out and add a 1/4 inch thick spacer.

Came in time given. Individually packaged. Already oiled. Have used just a few times and works as described so far. Not sure about long term, but short term has been good.

Collects are what one would expect from a cheaper import. Overall sizes vary greatly, so some collects will stick out of the spindle further. But seem to hold tight. Biggest issue is the T.I.R. As stated in the description says high tolerance, have indicated 5 so far, most running .0006 to .001. With the 5/16 collet at a horrid .006 runout. If more are like that I will be returning.

Works like they’re supposed to, but shouldn’t have to de-burr and chase threads with a tap before use. After you clean them up they work fine with very little runout.

I did not get the 5/16 collets in my order! I did get get a 10mm collet that does me no good.. James

Collets are made well and work great, a good deal for the money
