Be forewarned warned of you have tricky knees!
I was looking for a fitness style scooter that mimicked a skating motion. After reading the reviews, I determined that at barely 5'2, the main objection of non adjustable handle would not be an issue for me. Having skated, and being in good condition, I imagined myself scooting around the streets, enjoying an upright workout, as opposed to my bike. I realized very quickly that it would take some getting used to, but now find I am very disappointed. It is very difficult to achieve and sustain the required motion to get it moving at much pace, and it aggravates my admittedly not perfect, less than young, knees. I think the limited reach of the foot platform does not provide for the actual push off like the free motion of a skate or ski. And the fact that when pushed out, your knees are turned in, is an unnatural position for the joint, which can lead to aggravation. It is well built, and actually a bit heavy, and undoubtedly would support even a man. Easy to assemble, folds up nicely for transport.Obviously it works for some, but does not for me.

Why couldn't the thigh master be this fun!!
Pros: Totally a blast to ride; uses leg muscles you didn't know you had; super easy to assemble and make any necessary adjustments on wheels and brakes; it is very solidly built with a pretty cool design for using the ski motion.Cons: It doesn't like to go up even a slight hill; Handle bars are not adjustable. This is a such a fun way to exercise. I have miles of paved trails in my area and I can tell you this will be getting some miles on it. I already feel pumped for another ride out. Luckily the cons are minor, at least for me, I am not opposed to the kick motion, works out the booty anyway and I am only 5'2 so the handle bars are perfect height for me. I think this is a great product.Just a side note: I had horrible delivery experience. I paid extra to have it delivered Sat. and it did not arrive until Monday; Then it arrived with the back of the footplates busted up. However after careful inspection by myself and my husband we decided not to do a return since the broken pieces were cosmetic and 98% likely to have occurred when the FedEx driver dropped it on my porch. I don't believe the broken pieces were do to poor workmanship but rather a lazy delivery guy.

More exercise than just a scooter!
I purchased the SkMotion for my 13 year old son's birthday. His friend has a fixed frame 3-wheeled scooter and we thought that the SkiMotion would be similar. The package arrived on time and assembly took aprox 20 minutes. The product is high quality and sturdy enough for a full sized adult. It only took a few minutes to learn how to ride, but it does require some effort to make it go. The SkiMotion is more of a fitness trainer than a 3-wheeled toy scooter. The wheels are larger than a toy scooter which allows a smooth ride on rough surfaces. Overall very satisfied with the product but wish the handle bars would extend to allow for a more vertical ride position.

Too difficult to ride. I bought it as an exerciser, but it hurts my knees too much to use it. Have had my grandkids try it & they all think it's too difficult to use, as well. Wish I had returned it, as it has just been decorating my garage since I bought it.

My 10 year old and my husband both love this scooter
My 10 year old and my husband both love this scooter. It was a great price for a great product. I love that it's not only for fun but it for exercise as well. It folds up very easily and takes up very little space. We bring with us when we go to a friend's house or a family member's house. All the kids and men fight over who gets to ride it next.

Great, fun, excellent workout, except........1 major deal breaker :-(
Well made, arrived in a timely fashion, great exercise. Two things make me wish that I had tried it in a store, and not bought it online without testing: !) Do not count on the brakes to stop you. You really need to slow down or stop by jumping off or dragging a foot. But, this isn't really such a big deal and doesn't overly detract from the experience. 2) This is the BIG PROBLEM....you can't adjust the main column or handlebars, higher. I'm only 5 foot 5 inches and I want the handle bars to come up about three or four inches, more, so I don't have to hunch over all of the time. With the current height, I can feel the exact spot where it will throw my back out. I wanted that upright forward motion to be with good posture and core strengthening, like on an elliptical or a stepper-cycle. If I wanted to hunch over some handle bars, I could have stuck with my bike. So, the non-adjusting handle bars is a real bummer on an otherwise fun and great exercise potential product. It is very stable and well-made (other than the no-braking brakes). If you are short or have a spine of steel, go for it!

Too hard to work.
I bought 3 of these for my kids. Although it seems like a good idea, they are quite heavy and hard to work. My kids used them outside in the cup-de-sac and it was okay as long as they were going slightly downhill. I even tried it and it's very hard to get it going. Takes the fun out of it because it's too much work.

Love my new toy
Love my new toy! Builds up my inner/outer thighs while having fun! Only fault is that the handle bars do not adjust, but when I take this out at work everyone wants to take turns using it despite that flaw. Remember 200lb max!! ;-)
