Small flutes made of heavy glass
These flutes are made of heavy glass and are quite small. They are perfect for sparkling wine but I use them also for small shakes, custards or fruit juices! They match all the "Perigord" glass plates, glasses and bowls from La Rochelle. The manufacturing process (from the 15th century) uses a press so each glass presents a thin line on each side. This line is not very visible and can be an interesting conversation starter about glass making :-)I love the fact that they are heavy and solid. I wash them in my dishwasher and they stay clear and nice.

Pretty!
These are similar to George III wine glasses. They are very attractive. I did end up returning them, however, because they are a bit thick and too heavy for my taste. Also, because they are glass and not crystal, they have a bit of a greenish cast.

Clunky and inelegant
We were seeking a period champagne flute to use at a 19th century formal dinner that we are hosting. These glasses are the closest thing that we could find to a period design. When we received them we were surprised to find how heavy and inelegant they were. Although we have recently seen photos of actual examples of 19th century glasses that are also rather thick, in an environment where Emily Post recommends that champagne glasses ought to be as "thin as soap bubbles" and that a thick glass "will lower the temperature at which a really fine champagne should be served and will spoil its perfection" it is hard to fully endorse these. Even so, we might have kept these had it not been for one fatal flaw. Not evident from the photos is a rather unsightly seam on both side of the glass. Not having actually seen an original in person, I can't know if that is a correct feature, but never having observed a seam on any other period glasses or reproductions, it gives these a cheap look. We sent them back...

High quality beautiful glasses
These are beautiful.... But warning-- they are much smaller than I expected. Almost like a small juice glass in the shape of a champagne flute. Love them and use them all the time for a small drink of juice or milk. For champagne, I usually end up getting out my more standard sized flutes.

I love Perigord glassware.
These are so elegant, yet practical compared to crystal! The flutes are durable and go through the dishwasher with no problem.I have the wine glasses and water goblets that go with these, and I'm completely mad about Perigord glassware from France.

Love these glasses!
I love these glasses! They are a great size for a serving of sparkling wine or champagne and they are not fragileLa Rochere Set of 6 Perigord Champagne Flutes. I put them in the dishwasher with no problem. The glass is a bit thick, which makes them great for casual, less formal gatherings or occasions. When in doubt, drink champagne:) The only odd thing about them is the seam that runs down the side of the glass. I don't ever recall seeing glasses made that way before these. Very unusual, but I'd buy them again, any way.

Not that nice.
I am not a fan of these. I didn't send them back but wish I had. They are very heavy, cheap looking and you can see the seam where they were made. I do like the size of the glass.
