Atwood Mobile Products 94180 Pilot Ignition Water Heater - 10 Gallon (packaging may vary)

Broke after 2 months of use. The old water heater was 20+ years old and worked better than the new replacement. I contacted tech support ~3 times a week, every week, as the water heater got progressively worse. The pilot would not stay lit, and it has ended with me having to stand at the pilot with a lighter for 30 minutes while it heats the tank. Everytime I called Atwood, they are trained to take no responsibility and EVERY TIME I was told that the wind was either blowing it out or there is something wrong with my gas lines. After taking all their advice and replacing gas supplies (which I should have known better since most of my appliances run off of gas, and I had no issues with any of them), the water heater is still not working properly. Finally today, I decided to ask to speak to a manager. She was just as rude as all of their employees in their tech support. She finally told me that they would compensate me the repair if I took the RV to the dealer (not just any dealer I suspect), and have them inspect and can verify that it was an issue with a part under warranty (2 year warranty). This water heater was purchased last summer, so its still "covered". I am a full time RVer so I can't afford to move out of my home while I take it to get repaired, and hope they pay me back for the repair. I guess this is how all warranties work - it's not worth the hassle and you end up not saving any money.

Worked flawlessly...for about a month. Then it stopped. Basically after lighting the pilot light now, it cuts off when when switched to 'on'. Called Atwood for some advice, which they provided plenty of (laced with healthy does of sarcasm). Unfortunately none it applies to a unit that hasn't even been in service for a month. I got such gems as "check for a bees nest", or a vague "it might need a cleaning". A unit that needs monthly servicing isn't one I care to own. The other obvious option is something malfunctioned, but they didn't seem to be interested in entertaining that thought.Bonus - Atwood's warranty is essentially useless. They will only honor it if you bring the unit (installed) to one of their approved service locations. For a sub-$300 water heater, it's hardly worth the time and effort. Easier to just return it and go with another vendor.

It was a perfect replacement for a heater that was split wide open due to freezing when it was not properly drained or winterized. Everything lined up with not problem. The LP line the water inlet and outlet lines were spot on and made it easy to hook up. It came with a new door and hinge assembly. I especially like the Atwood water heaters since they have aluminum tanks that do not requite the use of an anode rod like the steel tanks. I also ordered a role of butyl tape to seal the flange before applying a layer of caulk. It started right up after I purged the LP lines. I needed to make a slight adjustment to obtain a better fuel mixture. The pilot take some time to ignite since it dispenses a very little amount of fuel and takes a while until the air has been purged.

I installed the Atwood Mobil 94180 Pilot Ignition water heater about a month ago. It was easy to install, and so far is giving plenty of hot water. It will probably cost me a little more on propane thought. The water heater that I am replacing didn't turn on every time I used a little hot water like this one does. My old hot water heater waited until the temperature of the water was just barely hot before it turned on saving me on propane, but sometimes giving me luke warm showers.

Product box inside Amazon box was beat up and damaged. Water heater frame was damaged, we had to bend the metal back into shape. Gas pipette was pinched, but still worked without leakage. No screws were provided to install. No seal for water heater frame was provided. At first we couldn't get unit to light and directions were not helpful, we got it to light after reading a help forum on the water heater. Item looked obviously returned by another customer, because even the water heater directions were crumpled and folded to the French section. Obviously not a new unit, but worked with our own finagling. Very disappointed in product.

I put this in myself with the help of the none-to-great instructions. I had to widen the hole in my travel trailer which was easy because there was another wood brace in just the right place. Before you install the hot water heater, you might as well put on a permanent by-pass kit to winterize it, especially if you don't have access to the back from inside your RV. Be sure you get it all the way pushed back and seal it well before putting on the door. With the by-pass kit in place, I had trouble connecting the cold water because the end of the fitting was too close to the floor to put on the next needed fitting. I should have checked this out before sealing the unit in place. I solved this problem by buying two different fittings that worked for me.

The heater did not come with fittings. Told to use the ones from the old heater which were impossible to remove. Another problem the old fittings were not metal but rubber. They could not be removed without damage. Bought new metal ones which installed making the project easier.

The Atwood Mobile Gallon 96110 was a perfect replacement for my older 1977 Leprechaun motorhome's water heater. It was easy to install and works maybe too well. I have yet to use the main burner...and have only used the pilot light to keep the water at about 130 degrees. I supposed if we decided to take a shower, we would need to turn it to ON. It was a great fit and I'm happy with my purchase.

In like the fact that the water heater is a direct replacement for the original one in our trailer, the only difference being that this heater is pilot ignition rather than electronic ignition. Given the difference in price, I opted for pilot ignition and have certainly not been disappointed. Because of the gas connections, I had it installed by a technition, and the install time was about 1 1/2 hours. Most reasonable.

Great looking setup. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong one.Being a newbie RV, I didn't realize our heater was both electric and Gas.Bonus, it comes with a new door. Good seller, quick delivery!I will update once installed.

Exact fit and easily installed.bought the complete hot water tank for l.p. because I didn't trust that the old gas system would even fire up. Price wasn't too bad either.

replaced an older Atwood DSI water heater that never worked worth beans. This was about an hour to replace, fit in like a glove, changed over fittings and poof hot water. Has not skipped a beat, great product!

The product was in excellent condition and arrived in the time frame promised.It was easy to install, test and put into operation.I am pleased with the unit .

My only 'issue' with this product is me not reading enough about it. It is a totally manual unit (no electric control board). But once you light it it does exactly what it claims to, makes a bunch of hot water for your RV. Works great.

It worked good , chose against replacing my original DSI electric ignition with just basic manual pilot unit and fired up great fit great and cost half the price !! Now I don’t care if it goes in 5 years cause I didn’t pay a whole lot !
