Suzuki Airwave Harmonica
I think think this is an amazing little (well, it's kinda big) instrument--I bought a second one! For a plastic, seemingly kid's instrument, it plays extremely well--and you can bend notes easily. The holes are larger, and oval in shape, which makes it easy to blow/draw single notes. I suppose these are being marketed as kids' harmonicas to get them interested, or as a classroom teaching aid. I think this is a great starter harp for kids, or adults--less intimidating, you can blow single notes, and get a good idea of how to use a harmonica. The instruction book is also quite good to get one off the ground. Suzuki, by the way, is also a maker of really fine harmonicas for serious players.

A good place to start.
A very good starter harmonica, but it is a bit big, and the holes are far apart so it is not good for teaching separation of notes. I'm sure a child would absolutely love this though.

Great for Kids and Adults Too!
I am the most casual of casual harmonica players. I play for my own amusement. I have a metal allergy and the plastic mouthpiece appealed to me. Yes, it is marketed as a toy. It is easy to play. I have chromatic harmonicas that are longer. It is wide, but I don't think it makes kids look funny. It is easy for them to hold and play. I, an adult, think it feels great in my hands. A toy? Well, yes, but you sure can make nice sounds with it. Excellent entry level, and great for a casual player. I've heard pros on Youtube make some great music with it. Documentation is spectacular! I wish all colors were grouped into one area for reviews.

it is very large and easy for him to hold
I bought this for my 9 month old son, it is very large and easy for him to hold. He is able to inhale and exhale through it and make "music". It has been a very fun purchase to watch him try and play his harmonica. It is also mostly (possibly fully) made of plastic so I don't have to worry about sharp edges or him getting hurt if he flails around and whacks himself with it. No small parts that could fall off. It's now his favorite toy!

Diationic, C, Suzuki quality, good user instruction and warranty, web site.
I 'm 74 and have Parkinson's but thought i try something i used to do as a kid. I purchased several smaller harmonics but found them hard to hold and difficult to work. This harmonica is big, I can get my hands on it. It has blow holes far apart allowing me to easily access the notes. I have to go slower but that lets me breath better and hence get a better sound. The harp is well packaged, comes with a beginner hand book and it is worth it at twice the price.

Giant harmonica = Big sucess
I got this for my husband who is an elementary school teacher. He is not very musically-inclined, but has always liked to play the harmonica. This giant harmonica was a huge hit at Christmas and he had no trouble at all looking up songs on the internet (the method of reading music for this harmonica is amazingly simple for anybody to learn) and he now uses it with different melodies to direct his students from one activity to the next at school. It's a fun instrument for those who can't read music, but be warned that it is much larger than a normal harmonica.

Super easy harmonica for beginners to use
I bought this harmonica as a present for my 1yr twins (and myself thinking I could learn to play them little songs and they could learn to have fun with music). They figured out very quickly which side to blow into and one of them even figured out that he can move the harmonica and blow in different spots for different sounds. The instruction booklet that it came with is super easy to follow for a musical newbie and I have been able to learn a few little songs to play for the boys and they love it!The harmonica itself is very large and sturdy but lightweight. has each note separated and clearly marked on top so it is simple to follow along with the instruction book and easy to make clear notes. I am very impressed by the quality and value of this item and think it is a great purchase for anyone wanting to learn the basics or have fun with their children!

Good for cardio and motivation
Works well for a beginner like me with little patience because its easier to get started playing individual notes and songs whichmotivates me to keep at it. I like its sound and that it takes a little more air than smaller ones but this is good for a geezer like me who needs a gentle cardio workout

Good starter harmonica
Good beginner harmonica. The instructions for the songs included were easy to follow. Deducted a star because I bought two of these, and one of them stopped working properly.

It is made for children
It’s made of plastic. Cheap construction. Not for professional use. For gifting children only.

Tactile, well priced, good tune
Nice and tactile, easy to get a sound out, well-tuned. Perhaps a little large for very young children.
