This item is the worst product I've purchased!! I have not had it 6 months, and it completely stopped reading any disc!! It stopped reading regular DVD's after 4 months!! And today it stopped reading any DVDs!! This is the second unit that I've purchased within a year! The first unit did the same and the recent one!!!!!! Don't waste your money on this p.o.s. item! I give this abomination 1 star because I can not submit a review with no stars...I give this piece of junk negative 10 stars..and wish I could get my money back!!!

If what you need is 4K upscaling of Blu-Ray, 3D and multi-region support, then this does it! I have tested and used all of these functions. But this low budget player does not have any "smart" apps, or any way to play network files.You can probably play files from the USB port.It does have 2 x HDMI output and Component output, which is rare.Here is what it will NOT do, and the reason I only gave it 3 stars:(1) It will NOT play UHD Blu-Ray. Yes it will upscale to 4K a regular Blu-Ray or DVD, but it will not recognize a 4K UHD Blu-Rau.(2) It will NOT play HDCP HD content over Component. It will switch to SD automatically.(3) As far as I know, there are NO firmware upgrades or support for this product. Use it until it fails. That's it.

Great Blu Ray player. Plays flawlessly. I am so happy.

This DVD player worked like a dream for about 5 months. Now it will not read any DVD's and always displays "no disc" on the LED screen. After attempting to look up this manufacturer I cannot find any information on the internet, let alone a warranty. Please let me know if you find a phone number or email address I can write to. I've had my BD-K980 for two years now, and from what I've read I got one of the good ones. It's been a pretty good machine so far, but here are the issues:*No tech support. Period.*No software or firmware updates. (See above)*3D seems to give double-images at times, although to be honest it's my only experience with 3D Blu-ray technology.*In spite of what it boasts, my machine cannot read a 4K disc.*Disc-reading is rather loud.

I DO NOT recommend this player or this seller. Player has no warranty. Contacted seller. They told me to have it fix by a repair center. It usually not worth having electronic items repaired because of the cost. I had the player less that five months before it broke. I will ask about the warranty before purchasing any other items. This is the first items that I've purchased, that didn't have a warranty. I've been a customer for 16 years.
