I've only used this once, so can't speak to sturdiness, but it does have that great old-fashioned wood-and-rivet construction look I associate with stuff of my mother's I'm still using 50 years later. This definitely did the trick on deveining and cutting easily through the shell, and I've tried everything else on shrimp. Most importantly, it worked easily and without harming me while I was deep into my 2nd margarita, required to assist in ignoring the utterly disgusting things that emerge during this process. And I make strong margaritas, folks, so that really was an excellent test. Buy with confidence. ;)

Made cleaning shrimp much easier. I have trouble and I mean I’m allergic to touching fresh shrimp while cleaning the little suckers so anything I can do to hasten getting that job done makes me very happy. (Yes I wear gloves). This tool helps very much!

That nasty line of ... just use this knife,it's usually one swipe- each side- tada- it's edible shrimp,not that nasty poop crunch🤮 when you miss it
