This is a pretty standard measuring tool that every serious seamstress should have in their kit. I used one just like it for 15+ years, and am just now replacing it after the measurement lines have been worn off from constant use. Checked against other rulers and the measurements are accurate. Slide works smoothly and stays in place well. These little Dritz rulers are a great quality tool!

My preference for steam gauge is either an Omnigrid ruler, a piece of cardboard cut to the actual shape of the hem that I want to make (that I then roll the hem over and then press over), or for actual measurement the Nancy Zieman gauge that adjusts. But considering this item is only two dollars it's a really good compromise. It also can be used as a point Turner- although my fist preference is a dedicated point Turner made out of hard plastic, or a Bodkin, or a chopstick, or varous seaming techniques. But for a combo item for beginners, it cant be beat.

2 arrived in large separate packaging - wasteful for the environment. The item is in excellent condition, but bends easily - the metal is a bit thin. Item works as it should.

This will be fine for what its purpose is. The metal is flimsy and the item was bent coming right out of the package. My expectations weren't high for the price though so I still give this 4 stars.

this is a great little item. I find uses for it all over the house. it's smaller than a retractable tape measure so not so cumbersome for small jobs. the sliding guide helps keep your measurement consistent

This is also a point turner, which can save you money. “0” is the first line before 1 not the top of the triangle, for people like me who get confused easily. You can do seams with your iron, just beware of the heated metal. The ruler has some unintended semi- sharp edges, so be careful and keep it away from the kids.

Nice to have the point turner but wish I opted for one that did not have that. Cannot use it for intended use to get accurate measurements. But 4 stars because it is a great point turner and that is kinda my own fault!

Sturdy

a typical seam gauge like others I've had before. Aluminum body and plastic slide. It's neither good nor bad, not really remarkable and does the same job as other seam gauges.

Very useful multi measuring tool

The markings are clear and very accurate. The ruler is sturdy and very easy to use
