This book on A great actress is a chronological account of the making and fate of Sophia Loren's films. It is a hurried text, I.e. The desire to just get the job over. Beginning usually with quotes from Loren's sayings /writing, the text is edgy. It leaves one looking for some more research on the proclaimed sex symbol who has been a great actress and a family lady thinking positive as well as the film genres she acted in. The professional aspect needs more meat to its story.

This biography presents a nice walk through Loren's life, providing some context, but not much depth. Loren is a very interesting figure, whose life has taken some unusual turns. There were a number of events and circumstances described or more accurately 'touched on', and that were intriguing enough for me to want to delve a little deeper- not in this particular book, though. I would consider it to be a well-written introduction to the actress, and in that sense, it whets the appetite for more.
