This is perfect for any budding artist! So easy to store, that if you are short on space it is the only way to go. It will work on your lap or on a table. The storage is deep for all your brushes and tools. I like the quality of the latches too. Doesn’t feel cheap at all! Makes you excited to paint and create when you have something this nice to work with! My son wishes he had one so he could paint like Mommy!

I’m a lot more satisfied with this ease than I thought I’d be. It’s made very well and since I work small it’s easily adjustable for whether I want to work straight up or a little more flat. I love having the drawer too, it’s perfect for my brushes and smaller tubes of paint for on the go. It’s also a great size to store away when I’m not using it!

Purchased to do diamond painting during prime day. The overall item is good but the drawer sticks every time you open it. There are no dividers inside it's just one big drawer, which is fine for my use but might annoy others. If you want something heavy-duty then this isn't it but if you just want something to use in the house for a craft then sure it will do the job.

I wanted a drawing board that was portable and not real big. I don’t have a dedicated room for drawing and needed something to easily put up and take down. I am very happy with this. The only thing I would improve on is having the pull out drawer just a little deeper because my pencil sharpener is too thick for it. I can clip my book light on it for extra light. I LOVE this thing. It’s not for anyone who does large drawings but I don’t usually do anything larger than 8x10.

It's a Christmas present for my granddaughter so I won't know much until she opens it.

I suffer from severe headaches but hate just laying in bed. With this easel I can draw quietly. This is nice to take outside on the deck because I can load up the supplies I need in the bottom drawer and go. I’m not an artist and have not compared easels but this is great for my needs at a really nice price

It's worth the amount you pay for. Very sturdy and love that I can draw on it without it collapsing. But only if you are trying to start an art career not for children.

I was worried before receiving this, wood items frequently are very cheaply made, but I was pleasantly surprised. Nicely finished, everything works like it should. I just think the price is a bit high for what it is. I'm disabled, so standing at an easel is difficult, so this will be a great help. I can use it on a folding tv tray or even hold it on my lap. I use many different types of media, and this looks like an enjoyable alternative to balancing a large art board on my lap. I will have to get a small board for my pastel paper projects, but that's ok. Don't know how it will hold up, but here's hoping.

I already have one of those table top box easels where the inside of the box is behind the propped up lid. Bit impractical, as everything is hidden and behind the easel with your paper and you have to have space in front of you to lay all your materials so you see them.I was trying to find a way to use a very small desk, to be able to have paper on a canvas and have the materials available in front of me. Or be able to take it to paint outside on a table.Then I found this, which is perfect!It has a drawer that comes out at the front.I do acrylic and watercolour painting.As a note, the drawer is very shallow and has fixed dividers, so my acrylics paint materials didn't fit. So I keep them in my other, bigger easel box.But my basic kit of flat watercolour box and paintbrushes fit perfectly and it is wonderful to have a basic set of everything together in one place, including an easel. I chose this one, as the easel is solid wood, allowing you be able to use paper to paint on.The other similar boxes available only have slats, for canvas boards or canvasses, where to paint on paper, you would have to fasten it to a board first.You have to have the box on a flat surface to carefully pull put the drawer.I think there was a wooden paint palette included in the drawer, which would be for oil painting only. I took it out.This box easel is good quality, wood, nicely finished, feels sturdy, has a nice handle and is a joy to take out.I have my accessories e.g. masking fluid, tape other paints in a separate plastic box.But it is a different experience, an 'old fashioned' joy to pull out this quality wooden box easel with my main watercolour paints and brushes.

As a cabinetmaker i can tell you that this is well built and thoughtfully designed. The quality and precision of the woodwork is excellent. I love the finish, though some of the infrequently visible parts are left unlaquered. I don't mind as it's an art fixture, though i would have liked to see a more thorough finishing job. The hardware is simple and elegant. The work surface can be propped up at four angles with the stepped rail and support inside, and an extra angle or two is achievable by letting the support lay flat as a wedge behind the work surface, or using a very small step where the rails join. The drawer functions with a tongue and groove style of joinery with clasps on each side to keep it closed. I would have liked if it was not segmented but it does add to the strength of it's construction. The divisive rails are inset and it includes a cover panel to keep things in place when it's closed. Some may be annoyed by the hinge protruding where you set your canvas because it's impossible for it to sit flat but it's otherwise very functional. I am just colouring pages personally so i just tuck the paper behind the hinge and keep the flap up to hold it in place instead of supporting something. A perfectionist would mention that the support flap is not quite thick enough to sit at a perfect ninety degrees when flat against the work surface but that detail is cosmetic only. I would have also liked to see some small bumper pads on the inner corners of the work surface to keep the spacing the same as the hinge side when closed but this clasp hardware doesn't allow for that to be added. The unit has some non-slip feet screwed on to the bottom of it's frame. Overall i am very happy with this purchase. When i was colouring just flat on my desk i was causing myself some pain and discomfort after a while, but this easel relieves and prevents that, giving me a great ergonomic surface to colour on. Well worth the $52 or so that i paid.
