A few of the seams were ripped open, but because I love this quilt so much, I mended it myself rather than return it.

I really wanted an oversized king quilt and this one really is!!! There are a lot of quilts calling themselves oversized, but if you measure your bed, you will find they really are not. This quilt hangs down quite a way on all sides and gives enough cover even after 2 adults are under the quilt!! It's very pretty, looks antique, well made and is a good weight. It's not too thin but not too heavy so I think it will work well in all seasons, depending on where you live...we live in Wisconsin so the summers are mild and the winters are cold. Right now, with an extra blanket, it's quite cozy and we will find out when summer comes this year. I'm very happy with my purchase!! I was hesitant because of how much it cost, I had ordered from another site and it would have been $70 cheaper, but they were out of stock for at least 3 months, and all the other sites I checked were out of stock as well, so obviously it's a popular quilt!! I had it narrowed down to this one and another one close to it, my husband liked this one better!!

I ordered a Queen, and this is a generous sized quilt! It isn’t heavy but has plenty of warmth. It is beautiful! I also was impressed with the speedy ship time. I received my order in two days. I included two photo's so reviewers could get an accurate view of the color and design. I did not order the shams, and probably won’t, only because my husband dislikes a “bunch of pillows to remove every night” but they would probably dress up the bed. This is a beautiful pattern for my primitive decorating style. I use this quilt with only a sheet, and it is plenty warm for the two of us, in our Wisconsin winter.

I love the VHC products. I have 2 quilts I have bought from them. They are well made and I use them all year. Living in Montana they are great with a blanket underneath and are light enough with just a sheet the rest of the year.

I was really hoping that the quality would be better for this price. Not very confident on how it will last. Of course, if you have checked out the prices of real Amish quilts lately ($1400) and they do not have the most exciting patterns, this will do. What I do not like the most is the single threads that seem to run across the quilt to secure the backing\filler material. The total weight seemed heavy enough and the colors are as seen but not like those quilts you may have experienced at some vacation get away that made you think you wanted to try a quilt in the first place. I wanted something cotton, tired of the poliester and the Patriotic theme gave me inspiration to redue the guest bedroom.

"Wow! That's really nice! ...My husband said when he saw this quilt. It is a beautiful, well made quilt. I love the American Patchwork design. The colors are muted (not bright) and it's exactly what I wanted. We live in a log cabin so it matches our decor perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. The quilt (King Size) is large and quite heavy, the sewing is superb, and it's designed to look like a homemade patchwork quilt. I laundered it upon arrival, as it had a slight chemical odor, which came out in the wash...and because it's all cotton, it took some time to dry.

Love this quilt! Not super thick and fluffy like those comforters in a bag...but a nice quality and feels like a quilt should be! It didn't feel quite like a heavy quilt as much as I liked and so I used my big heavy sheet that is super high quality and that made all the difference! I bought a king for my queen and it's bigger than I expected...covers my bed (mattress and box spring) completely! I'm hoping to get a king bed someday!! And I can use this quilt as well no problem!

Finally! A king-sized comforter/quilt that is big enough and has enough drape to actually reach and go a little bit past where the box spring meets! Nice and toasty too. The quality is very nice too. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the color is a bit off from the picture both on Amazon and even on the bag the quilt came in. The buttery beige color is much darker and the overall quilt is just darker (red not so bright, etc). I've made peace with the darker colors, but be warned.
