i was expecting it to to be bigger i am going to return it otherwise it is okay

I was looking for something like this to keep half of my cats' daily canned food in the fridge and then warm it back up for dinner. I've been using my makeshift combo of ramekin/bowl/dish before this and was really hoping to find something proper in a set that looks good. I was only able to find a few on Amazon and took my chance in this. I was worried it'll take too long to warm the chilled food up as I was used to submerging my ramekin into a bath of boiling water and this one I can't fill it past the base of the dip dish much or it'll overflow. Thankfully it still works wonderfully and doesn't take any longer to warm the food up than my usual method. Maybe it's the much bigger amount of water underneath it that does the trick. In fact, the whole unit stays hot for a long amount of time. So I'm happy with it.The set does look very nice. I only wish the hole through the lid is bigger to allow fingers to hook through.Even though as it is it's still ok, I just feel I have to be very careful when holding on to it.

Looks good and will keep your dip hot or cold, but it will only hold 12 ounces if you are not using the lid. The dip-holding part of the container will hold 12 ounces, but that is filled to the brim. This isn't much of a problem with a chunky dip like guacamole or a bean dip, but if it is a more liquid-type dip, like queso, the dip will overflow the container if you fill it up to the top and put the lid on. If you want to use the lid, the container can realistically hold just shy of 10 ounces of queso-type dip.

This was very small and not at all what I expected. Fairly useless.

This is a nice dip chiller pot. It's larger than others I've seen. Also I prefer the colored pottery look to the veggies and other prints that most come with. It can be used year round. It arrived quickly.

Ever been to a party and wondered how long that creamy, mayo-based dip in the decorative bowl has been sitting out in the hot sun? Enter the Sorrento Dip Chiller. Throw a cup of cubed or crushed ice in the bottom of the big bowl, set the filled dip bowl on top, and cover! (don't want those nasty flies to party in your dip, right?)I love this chiller. We bought the Ruby color, and it's gorgeous--slightly more burgundy/ruby than candy-apple red (as pictured). Other reviewers have mentioned that it doesn't hold very much dip--it easily holds a full cup (8 oz.--I measured!) of sour cream. We have another handmade, stoneware dip chiller that we bought at a craft fair in Pennsylvania that only holds 1/4 cup of dip, so this chiller feels super-sized. I like to refill my dip chillers frequently when we have visitors because, let's face it, after a couple of margaritas even (or maybe especially?) the best of friends will dip their chips directly in the bowl or--gasp!--double dip. It never hurts to do a quick wipe and refill, especially with a mixed crowd.When the chiller isn't being used for dips, I'll use the ice bowl to hold butter (we eat a LOT of butter, and this guy should hold about a pound of softened butter) and the dip insert as a candy dish on my island.I highly recommend this dip chiller, especially if you've purchased other items in the Signature Housewares Sorrento Collection. The style is perfect for traditional homes.

Very functional and high quality. Not giving it 5 stars because there is no gasket on the lid to create a seal that keeps the dip fresh in the refrigerator. Also had issues taking it to a party in the car where a sudden turn threw the lid off and broke it. Otherwise, it's a great item, you just have to be aware that the lid is just resting on the dish that contains the dip.

Couldn't be more perfect. It is actually for dip and has a small insert for your dip that you would put above the ice below. BUT, I purchased this for the reason of using this as a sugar cube container. Perfect size, holds nearly a full box of sugar cubes. I just started collecting these pieces and I love the oregano green color. the ruby red was my second choice another beautiful color. Very pleased with this.
