19114 67 Bump Cap, Red

This bump cap is great for working underneath the car so you don't hit your head against the lift arms or components under the vehicle. I saved a number of injuries to my head each time I "bump" into the underside of the vehicle while working with it on the lift. Works better than a hard hat because the space between the head harness and the top of the cap is less than a hard hat that has greater space for protection from falling items overhead. This cap is not safety rated as it's not intended to protect you from tools dropped from 20 feet above you, etc. It's merely to protect your head from bumps under vehicles, etc. Comfortable to wear (sometimes I forget it's on my head).

I shave my head and sometimes when working on projects around the home I will bang or scrape my head on a beam or shelf .Often it leaves a cut or scrape that takes a week or two to heal.This hat is much lighter then a hardhat and has saved my head more then once since I bought it .I glued a small piece of leather on the webbing at the crown of the hat to make it a little more comfortable on my head .

Protect against minor hits. Light weight, i can wear it through out the job with out feeling heavy weight on the head.Good straps, doesn't fall of when i bend down to pick up something.

Good enough to keep you dry in a downpour. Very fashionable. Not good enough to protect you from a baton strike.

Nice adjustable hat. I use it for light construction job sites that do not required a full hard hat. Very light to wear for long periods of time and very bright so everyone knows you are wearing a hat. It is not a hard hat so I would recommend it for like jobs sites where there is a low ceiling or areas you might bump your head.

This is a nice fitting bump hat. It stays on my head while working with no slipping to either side.It is not osha rated for a hard hat though.

Fully adjustable, reasonable cost, bump protection. Suspension system is a little "fiddly" but once adjusted is trouble free.

Just what I was hoping the bump cap would be. The ERB 19116 is more compact than a full sized, OSHA hardhat (I don't believe these bump caps are OSHA approved). But I just wanted something for doing home improvement stuff (attic work, car repair etc.). For the hour or so some project will take, this will work fine. Smaller, lighter, more compact but unlikely going to stop and I-beam coming straight for you head.

bought this item because I'm working on a reno that involves a low basement (crawl space). The low profile means that I have to hunch over less than with a construction grade hard hat. The light weight means that it is reasonably comfortable to wear so I'm more likely to actually wear it. The colour makes it easy to find and the plastic is easy to clean when it gets dusty or dirty. It has zero insulating value (and I haven't tried it over a liner) so it is not for cold locations.I'm considering drilling it to fasten a headlamp sans elastic strap. but I'm not sure what that will do to the integrity of the helmet. probably not much difference for the way I'm wearing it.

Love it. I bought this for my sister who has a very small head. Love that is is adjustable
