Mudent Electric Gas Lighter Fire Starter Ignitor for Kitchen Gas Fireplace Stove BBQ Stoves (37cm)

I bought this to light my gas fireplace insert. It started the fire on the first click. I don’t know how it will hold up, but as long as it sparks should continue to work. I can’t see how it would be different for a fireplace than a stove, as it is merely a question of getting the spark tip in contact with the gas. UPDATE - after some use I find that, although it sparks, it does not always light gas fireplace on first click, which means that there is sometimes a flash of gas that would be scary for some people. I just keep myself low and away from gas, as is possible with the long snout on this thing, but others may feel more comfortable with a flame lighter.

Great device - saves having to replace an electrical harness on our gas range top. Works fine once your process is defined and practiced. Most gas ranges have a click zone where small amounts of gas are released and the spark plug helps ignite the flame. With this tool, take the gas beyond the click and simultaneously squeeze the trigger until flame erupts. Be cautious - not for kids to use.

It doesn't always light my gas stove on the first try, many times it requires 10-15 tries before the stove lights and by then it's quite dramatic. First unit had problems, Pasway offered to replace, but I haven't received it yet. Unit feels good in the hand, much better then a cheap lighter. I'll up the star rating when I get my replacement.

Item is quite long, which is useful, but tip must be placed very close to fuel source because spark created is very small.
