No Recalls! None! What Does that Tell You?
I was having to clean up every day before feeding Chicken Soup for the Soul Adult formula to, Max, my male Bob Cat Maine Coon mix.Sometimes, I was cleaning the floor, the kitchen window sill (his favorite spot), and the carpet two, three, some times, four, times a day! Now you can't tell me this is normal. Hairballs are one thing, but Max was bringing up full food, undigested and projectile vomiting was happening way too often. And, you know cats. They throw up in the most inopportune places, such as, right in front of your bedroom door. So when you're stumbling to get to the bathroom and not focusing well, you step right into the mess. You can hardly avoid it. My husband was, usually, the unfortunate one to meet his day this way. Then I would hear cursing all the way to the bathroom. Or I would step in it when coming to my computer or, at his favorite spot, by the back door. Needless to say, it was becoming a chore trying to keep up with him upchucking almost every time he ate any dry food whether it was Wilderness Blue Buffalo or Meow Mix.I will say, though, it was this last bag, of Blue, I got, is when he started having problems. I don't know if they changed the formula or what, but something sure changed. Since I started feeding him Chicken Soup for the Soul cat food, I have only had to clean up a huge hair ball and one mess in our kitchen window, and that, I believe, was due to him eating his soft food too fast yesterday. Two times compared to two or three times a day? I'll take it.I, normally, transition my cats, to new food, over a period of time. I mixed Meow Mix, with the newest at the top, as instructed. But Max was losing weight, exponentially, so I gave him Chicken Soup for the Soul Adult formula within a day. No vomiting! I cannot stress this strongly enough. No messes. He takes his time to eat now. Because the kibbles are larger, he has to chew them fully. Before I would be finding undigested Blue kibble in his vomit. I want to point out, neither Kit nor Max has had any problems changing to this food, except that she's not as enthusiastic about it. But I'm Cat MaMa and I make the decisions for her health. I know I made the right one this time.I had read, here, that owners feeding Meow Mix, had less problems with digestive upset. I had some here so started feeding it to our fur kids. Max seemed to do better with it, but, eventually, he had the same trouble. And, putting the Meow Mix with Chicken Soup, Max was still getting sick. I thought I was going to lose him. Within a day, I gave him nothing but the Chicken Soup food. Max stopped getting sick! You can imagine how relieved I am to find that this food has, probably, saved his life and given him a second chance to stay here. First, he could, barely, keep any food down. Secondly, my husband was getting fed up with walking in Max's messes and our having to clean up after him. He was saying maybe we should give him to the shelter or someone else. (In my husband's defense, before you think he's uncaring, he just got his medicine changed and has calmed down a lot.) But that's a whole other subject.I did not want to go through an untimely death again, after losing my companion, Blue Grand three years ago. I think now, it might have been the Blue Buffalo cat food that caused his Mega Colon illness where he could not go. Poor guy was starving and I didn't know it. Within a month, we also lost our beloved Satin Bombay, who had been with us for almost 20 years. He just went downhill within that month.Max also used to scratch almost all the time. He would shoot out of the window onto the floor and just start digging his head, neck and tail like something was biting him. He would shake his head like he had ear mites. I never found anything. He had scabs, so large, they seemed like tumors. He seemed anxious a good deal of the time, too. I know some of this was due to him coming from three abusive homes, but I also think he had itchy skin. Now he scratches, but not nearly as much. He seems a lot calmer and content, too. His fur is not flying all over anymore, either. I used to find it everywhere, even on our lamp shades. I've also noticed that the scabs are almost all gone. Another benefit is, Kit's fur doesn't look as mottled or shaggy. She was constantly begging for food when eating the Blue or the Meow Mix. She doesn't do that anymore and Max seems more fulfilled, as well. That, in itself, tells me this food is meeting their nutritional needs.I have checked for any different bowel habits and have found everything to be normal for both Max and Kit. There isn't as much solid waste as before, either. This isn't the first time I've bought this. When I was feeding it to all of our fur babies, and we are talking five total, they loved it and did very well. But we moved and I couldn't find it anywhere. I wonder, now, if it was being sold here on Amazon back then. I would have bought it, in a heartbeat. Not only does it have all the nutrition needed for cats, but it also doesn't have any corn, soy or gluten in it. In other words, it is, truly, grain free.If I had known what I know now about Blue Buffalo, I would never have fed it to my cats. So much for paying a premium price for substandard food, in my opinion. I had bought it in the purple bag, and it made both of my cats sick. They, finally, would not touch it.As far as this household is concerned, we are a Chicken Soup for the Soul Family from now on. Besides being food Max can eat, it is pretty inexpensive. Compared to paying double for Blue, it is within my budget, and I think a 5.5 lb. bag will last me a month, wherein, we were going through almost a full 14 lb. bag of the Blue. So it's a win win all the way around.I believe, through prayer, I was directed, after searching for hours on end, to give my cats, especially, Max, this food. Combined with Hartz hairball remedy plus, I look forward to a long, healthy life for him. Kit is 9 and Max is 3. Max and I have got a long life to look forward to, together. Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus Paste for Cats and Kittens, 2.5 Oz.

No "beaks and toes" fillers in this stuff. This ...
No "beaks and toes" fillers in this stuff. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because I was hoping this would stop my female cat from throwing up so much. It did cut that down a lot but she still does even with this stuff. Still, it's worth the price for what you're getting.

Great cat food, but price doubled since December 2018!
I have a very old cat. He always had a sensitive stomach and it was difficult to find dry food that he wouldn't vomit. I was delighted to have discovered this cat food agreed with his system. However, I was shocked to learn that the 5 pound bag size that cost $10 in December 2018 on Amazon now costs almost $20! The cheapest 15 pound bag goes for around $27. It makes sense for the cost per pound to buy the large size, but I really don't need to buy that much food for one cat.

Great cat food.
Very good cat food, limited ingredients. My cats love it. Although I thought I was buying the 15lb bag for $20.00, not the 5lb bag. Will not purchase again here as a local store I can purchase a 5lb bag for $10.00

But their cat also loved it. I made my friends happy and my
Its rated #1 as top cat food - no fillers etc. I gave a sample to a friend whose cat developed kidney issues and has to be infused weekly. They were at wits end in finding a cat food that worked for their cat. Being in Montana you have a limited choices where to find it. I told them about this food after I started feeding my 4 cats this brand. They were looking for a cat food with no fillers etc. They were actually thinking they would have to make their own cat food crunchies. But their cat also loved it. I made my friends happy and my cats

She is 16 doing very well.
I have a cat that is 16 years old. Was raised on "Chicken Soup of the Soul" She still can chew and enjoy the taste and it's more "healthy". I can't find the food in the store so I buy it on line. I would NEVER switch for another brand. I found a stray kitten and she will be raised on again "Chicken Soup of the Soul" The delivery time was fast and on time. I have tried other brands but my cat would always leave about 1/4 to 1/2 in her bowl now it's emptied Thank-you Kathy In Texas

Cat is satisfied.
My cat loves this food. It's a great supplement to the canned food I feed him, especially when I know I have a busy day and can only leave dry food out for him until I get home. He doesn't beg for food so much anymore since I added this, he has a recent clean bill of health from the vet, his weight is just right and his fur is shiny. This food is also relatively inexpensive. Healthier than the stuff on grocery store shelves without breaking the bank. So glad I found out about this!

Great Food
Cats did not mind the change, but I ended up changing to a diet variety cat food. This was good but they needed to lose weight. I changed to this one because the Royal Canin they had been eating their whole lives had a formula change that caused both my cats to vomit for about a week. Chicken Soup for the Soul was accepted by both cats with no adverse effects.

Very good..
Very good.... No problems switching my cat over to it from his other food. Nutrition is much better than other foods. My cat is less hungry now he receives more protein and less sugary carbs. We hope he will loose some weight now.

Cats won't eat this.
My cats hate this food, leave it sitting, won't eat it and I can't return it! Should have bought from actual local store that would have allowed me to return it. I believe the local store then donates it to the animal shelter. Lesson learned.
