Get. This. Halter. Now!
What are you waiting for? Do you want to spend $60-$100 for a "clinician's" halter that is the same quality, if not inferior? You will not be disappointed with this halter. Excellent, superior, the dictionary doesn't have enough words to describe it. This blue is stunning! Bright, electric blue! Can you imagine it on a chestnut! Love, love, love!Well, we've gotten several more of these halters now, haha! We put in a custom sidepull + fiador purple, a large black for out 16h+ gelding, a standard purple, and a 1/4 thickness in standard black since our original purchase in blue. Honestly, these are really our go-to halters. I much much rather prefer the 3/16, the 1/4in is bulky. I do like real lightweight gear though. Oh, and the blue does look good on a chestnut. ;) We switched them around and will be giving our chestnut the blue, and our bay the purple. Just looks so much better that way! I'm getting green next! We do everything with these halters, and while the blue is a year old now, it is barely dirty and our bay really sits back sometimes when hard tied.PLEASE DO NOT PUT IN PASTURE WITH A ROPE HALTER ON. These are NOT cheaply made halters, and they are incredibly strong and tight. They will not loosen so the horse can slip out if they get caught in something. Please, please, please do not leave these on unless you are with the horse.

Excellent training halter, but go up one size.
Let me start by saying that after reading reviews, I bought a yearling size for a weanling, and I'm glad I did. I suspect that unless you're dealing with arabians or morgans or some other extremely delicate headed horse, go up a size. That disclaimer aside, I LOVE this halter. I have a rater large, boisterous foal (now weanling) who was dragging people around my farm. This halter only goes on for leading, over his regular leather halter that we use for general handling, tying practice, etc, but it has made a world of difference in his attitude and respect for being led. It offers a high degree of control and demands respect, without going to chains and the like.It is quite thin and stiff, but flexible. It's thinner than most other rope halters I've purchased, but definitely strong enough to hold a weanling having a tantrum. I use it with a 10' pima cotton lead rope (Dura-Tech sells them for about $10) and it's a great training tool.

Great training halter
I got this today, 4 days before the expected delivery date and I love it. Large is the perfect size for my 1/2 draft. She was very responsive with this halter today when we practiced her training commands (she is currently doing ground work and close to the point of being able to ride). I tried it on my other 1/2 draft who has a slightly larger head and the large fit him as well so I ordered one of the thinker but still stiff version for him as he is already well mannered.

LOVE this halter
LOVE this halter, well sized & tied (the rope isn't twisted so it keeps it shape & looks nice) Knots are well placed. I LOVE This halter for training & for use under a bridle (it's thin & light, but strong & a little stiff, so it gets a horses attention well). I wouldn't use this to train horses to tie with a hard tie, due to the thin rope it could possible cut into a horse, but I have not has this problem at all (just a thought). It's very comparable to Clinton Anderson's halters, but a tad thinner and better priced (and frankly I like them better than Clinton's & I've bought several of his in the past) SO glad I found these & will likely get more!

Great quality
This is exactly as described. The thinnest rope halter with the most bite. Fits just as expected. Only problem I had was getting the knot tight enough and twice a phorse pulled out of it. Just had to really tier up that knot tight and it works perfect. Note this is not the same thickness a traditional NH clinician uses, it’s thinner. It’s a perfect training halter and I can even ride a green horse in it with plenty of stop.

Great Halter!
By now, I must have a half dozen of halters -- and this one is the best!My mare can be a bit pushy & headstrong, so she (really me) needed a halter for more control. The combination of the nose knots (2), and the thinness of the halter were exactly what was needed. Also, the stiffness allows for an easier & quicker tying. Love it!

Perfect for natural horsemanship
This fits my 6 month old Tennessee Walking Horse perfect! All the other halters so far have tried have been to big but, I got the weaning size and it's just right. The rope is stiff and thin just what I wanted to elicit softness in my training. KNots all in the right places- she moves when you pull it.If you found this review helpful in any way please take a moment and hit the button.Thank You.

Bought the yearling size for my 14 hand 870lb pony ...
Bought the yearling size for my 14 hand 870lb pony and it fits very well. Wish the nose was an inch looser but the next size up was to big so it works for the pony out of all the other ones I have tried. Will purchase more in the future when needed.
