Great price!
Saved us a fortune. We spray painted it to match the railing. Looks like the originals. The inspector didn't even notice the repair.

Easy Install, revived the look of the house
Easy to install and does the job. It's all about looks, not about long lasting or a permanent fixture. As it is announced, its made out of plastic (PVC), but once it is install it makes a huge difference in the look of the entire rail. I was going to redo my entire porch rails because the part touching the cement was getting corroded and was looking terrible. The job was going to cost over $2K. With less than $100 I was able to give the entire porch a new look. if you want something that will last, then you need to shell out a lot more cash to get it. I recommend it 100%.

Perfect fi!
So glad I found these! Somehow mine supplied by the ironsmith went missing over time (to be fair, I hadn't glued them as suggested). I'll take these to a paint store to see if they can advise me as to what shade of grey I need to match the painted railings. A little pricey, but little things matter. I may buy another set.

Good product for price.
Fit & look was nice. Thought they had permanent seal but had to glue.

Looks great with a finished look that really finished the project
The shoe base was exactly what we needed to make our new patio wrought iron fence look finished. I could not find a metal option that was easy to install after the fence was installed or was affordable. The shoe base fit perfectly around the 1.5" and 1.25" posts. With a dab of ABS glue, the shoe base connected easily and stays in place. In 10 minutes I had fifteen shoes installed and I could call the project finished. The customer serverice was also excellent. I ordered 7 of the 15 shoes the wrong size. I returned the 7 and Simshoe shipped the replacement shoes the same day I placed the order on Amazon. No questions asked, just great service. I will buy Simshoe past base shoes for my next project.

Looks real nice when put together very easily. Not cheap plastic.

An Efficient Solution
Overall we are pleased with the finished "look and feel" that the skirt shoes provide. The two skirt shoe halves assembled (snapped together, i.e., "press-fit") easily at the foot of our 1-inch square wrought iron upper stair railing posts, covering the irregular rough-ins of the hardwood flooring. (The railing posts are anchored to the sub-floor and wall studs.) The fit of the shoe skirts is not binding, yielding just a slight amount of wiggle room, which is nice since the two halves have remained joined without requiring an adhesive. (Didn't need these at the mid-point or lower railing posts as their feet are covered by carpeting.) Visually, the foot print of these skirt shoes, at 3 1/2 inches square, is somewhat disproportionately large for a 1-inch square post, but that is a matter of personal taste. It has not been necessary to glue the halves together in order to prevent them from separating. Although knocking or dislodging them could, possibly, separate the two halves.Feedback for manufacturer: a wrought iron alternative, with set screws instead of alignment pins and a 2 to 2 1/2 inch footprint, would be a nice alternative (although probably more expensive). Set screws would allow the homeowner to remove and reassemble the skirt shoes, as necessary, for maintenance or remodeling activities. They would also remove the possible need to bond the two halves together, thus not destroying them if disassembly becomes necessary. And, it would allow the skirt shoes to be knocked or dislodged without causing the halves to separate. The smaller foot print, in a better proportion to the 1-inch square post dimensions, would be more visually appealing.

Deck Post Cover
Initially I was wary of the material and wasn’t sure they would hold up in the New England weather. But it’s 2nd winter still looks like new. I was afraid when steps were shoveled they would break. They are holding up beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend.
