Perfect Tool For Any Guitarist
This little sander is perfect for the average guitar owner. While it doesn't have the durability of a $200 device from StewMac, it fits anybody's budget. I consider it as essential as my string gauge and winder.Once you have your saddle to its shape and close to the right height use this gem of a tool to get your final saddle height, and a perfectly flat, right-angled base. It will probably last 20 years or so at my current rate of 1 to 2 saddles per year. I usually only work on a saddle when there is a substantial change in a guitar neck, or when I purchase a new guitar. The latter only happens rarely as I already have more guitars than I can comfortably store. It would be nice if the device came with instructions, but it's easy enough to figure out on your own. The knurled wheels that are on the outside edges are used to adjust the rollers on the bottom of the sander. Once your saddle is firmly gripped by the spring inside, you alter the height of the rollers to get the exact height that you want for your saddle. Simple, neat and with a little bit of care while rolling to be sure you don't wobble the sander from side to side (no need to apply a lot of pressure - just lightly). After a few passes, viola, a perfectly right-angled saddle that will transmit as much of the vibration from your strings to the soundboard as is possible.Used with care this device can do a much better job than I can by holding a sliver of saddle against sandpaper. I admire the genius of an engineer and company that can make a useful product for the average guy. Thanks!

Affordable and gets the job done!
I recently started doing set-up work for a few friends and I wanted a tool to help me sand bridges. This tool makes it easier, more accurate, and faster. It feels pretty sturdy even though it's made from plastic. I recommend this if you're starting out and practicing setup work.
