Quality is questionable
I believe this is the first review I have ever written for Amazon, but I feel that others need to know that, while these spikes appear in all aspects to be equal to Katoolah Microspikes, they just do not hold up. I've had a set of Katoolahs for about 6 years and used them consistently through the winter months in the foothills outside Denver. I use my microspikes to give me traction on ice and snow that I encounter on the Jefferson County trails just outside of Denver metro. I tend to leave the spikes on for my full 6 mile route, so they go over a lot of rocks when I'm not in the shadows. In 6 years, the Katoolah Microspikes never failed. They finally were worn down so much, that they no longer gave me traction on ice. I received my Unigear Traction Cleats on 11/23/18. Unfortunately, these spikes failed on my third hike! I repaired them, but had another failure (elsewhere on the gear) two hikes later. In each case, the metal links failed between the spikes and the rubber. The metal on these spikes just cannot hold up to walking over rocks. If you are going to use your gear on varied terrain, I highly recommend that you avoid these and buy the Katoolahs.

Work well on a variety of terrain conditions
I live in a suburban area and do a lot of trail running, but have to connect to the trails on sidewalk and road. I purchased these to be able to continue to get some trail time in in spite of a fair amount of snow. I've now used these twice, but on a variety of terrain. I can say that they have decent grip in soft snow, well packed snow, slushy snow. The deepest areas I've used these on is about 4inches and they do very well. I've had a couple of small slides on the slushier stuff, but stop after a couple inches and haven't fallen. I've also had to cross over some bare sidewalk and streets and the metal spikes have not broken off (I'm about 140lb, not sure if they'd be as durable for a heavier person.) These are easy to put on with the back clearly labeled. The rubber uppers are thick, yet stretchy, and haven't come anywhere near breaking. The velcro strap across the top helps keep these secure. They also come with a carrying pouch. I've noticed a little bit of clumping of ice in the spikes, but it does not appear to have detracted from the grip. When you are done and remove them, just clap them together to get the debris off. I purchased these to wear with a US women's size 10.5 trail running shoe and the large fits perfectly.

DO NOT BUY
I got these traction devices on January 23rd. I was really happy with them when I got them, and they do work great for traction. They broke the in ten days! They appear well made but did not hold up at all. Note, I have used them for running on packed snow, I have not been on any rocky terrain at all. I was really disappointed that they broke, but the thing I am most disappointed about is that I have sent two emails to the company through Amazon, one on February 3rd, the day they broke, and another one yesterday. I have had zero response. There is clearly no service after a sale from this company, so steer clear. When I first received these, I immediately had two emails from the company asking me to write a review, which I did and now regret. I should have given more time to see if they would hold up. Now that I have a problem, the company is nowhere to be found.

Great traction but some issues
I've only worn these once so I can't comment on durability but overall I was happy with the performance of these micro spikes. However, I'd like to make these comments/observations: if you're looking for traction on ice and icy dry snow, these will work great. But if you're going to use them for hiking/walking in an area where there's been a wet, heavy snow and/or where there's debris on the trail such as leaves, you might want to leave these home (or at least in your backpack) and stick with just your hiking boots or a pair of studded traction devices. Wet snow and debris tend to clump or "snowball" in the spikes which could cause your ankle to roll. To keep the spikes cleared you have to walk in a scuffing/shuffling kind of way which is a tiring gait when hiking. I wore these today in just those conditions and ended up taking them off. That being said, I still think I'll get a lot of use out of them this winter. They have great traction and in light, dry snow or on a firmly packed icy trail I think they'll work just fine.

Broken within a few hours, received replacement; time will tell.
I used these spikes on a hike in snowy/icy conditions. The hike involved about 4,500ft of elevation gain over a round trip of 12 miles in rocky, steep, and felled-tree conditions. One of the chains ripped through the rubber a few hours into the hike. I would hope that these would last for hundreds of hours of hiking, not a mere 3-4. I contacted the seller and they promptly replaced the spikes with a new pair at no cost, so that is awesome (hence my higher rating). Time will tell if my product failure was a fluke or a true design flaw. My lingering question is this: Why not embed metal grommets in the rubber to strengthen the attachments for the chains? Why leave straight rubber to handle the focused stress of the chain pulling without any reinforcement? Grommets would only add an oz to the total weight but potentially make these spikes many times more durable.

Great up Winter Munro’s!
Giving these a comfortable 5 Stars. The price is fantastic and the quality is great. I recently wore these during an 8 mile hike up Ben Vane in Scotland during winter conditions and they performed great for what they are. These work particularly great in thick ice or shallow snow providing excellent grip. Not so great in thicker snow but that’s to be expected and longer Crampons would be needed instead. Also pleased to find that they work well in wet boggy ground also providing extra traction.A no brainier for the price.

Good sturdy cleats
Aside from it looking strangely like an s&m toy out of the package, these spikes are definitely a level above the other cheaper/similar priced items. The chains look well put together with double hooks in the high impact areas. Not those cheap bracelet style single hoops. Quite impressed and they look like they’ll do the job great.

Brilliant in ‘THAW’ mode... (that was a joke, if there was any doubt).
These items were brilliant, the moment they arrived all the ice disappeared so I didn’t have to use them. They’re in my rucksack ready to use next winter when I predict we will have the warmest winter on record. On a serious note, they easily fitted on my boots and look quite substantial. I can’t see them not being able to do a good job when called upon to do so.

Great Traction
I have had a few of these snow grip devices over the last few years and these are the best yet. Great grip and pretty rugged. I have kept of hard surfaces such as concrete and tarmac but have used on hard thick ice quite a few times and they are very effective.

Game changing, but get clumpy due to heavy duty spikes
Crampons are GAME CHANGERS! ESPECIALLY on ice and hills that are super.muddy. the spikes however collect clumps of mud or snow too easily and they've broken off a couple.times so had to use pliers to rebend the link chains back on after only a couple weeks
