Kent Crisps Oyster/Vinegar 40 g (Pack of 20)

Really enjoy the taste of these crisps, very much like the original smiths crisps. They have just the right amount of salt, not overbearing. Have ordered these on numerous occasions. They will continue to be a number one choice.

I'm stunned by the quality and flavour of these crisps. I had a packet in a cafe in a small Kent village, mainly because I was intrigued by the name of the flavour. The thought of even trying an actual oyster makes me feel queasy so I never expected to have them rocket to the top of my favourites list. I immediately had to have more so chose the super fast amazon delivery of a box of 20- so sure was I I loved them. I am so glad my curiosity got the better of me!The taste is layered and subtle. The sea salt is much preferable to typical 'salt', being more nuanced. There is an undercurrent of vinegar but not overwhelming or abrasive as can happen with some salt and vinegar crisps; more like a good balsamic with depth. There is also an undercurrent that I assume is the oyster only it isn't in the least bit fishy. More like the taste of a really good Oyster sauce from a quality Chinese restaurant- delicate yet present.. However, the potato is also the star. You can actually taste the potato, unlike every other packet of crisps I've ever had, where the potato is merely a vehicle to deliver the flavouring. The potato also retains its crunch. You get a distinctly layered taste experience that makes these a pleasure to savour.Reassuringly MSG free and as someone who gets a headache at the merest sniff of MSG I can attest to this being true. Some companies say 'no added MSG' but it is present in their 'natural flavouring' lurking to give me a migraine. Not so with these. In fact I applaud you, Kent Crisps for producing a crisp of unsurpassed subtlety, richness of flavour and fabulous quality. I shall order these as a staple.

These Oyster and Vinegar flavour Kent Crisps are just the very best “salt and winnie crips” you’ll ever taste. Do not buy them all, make sure there are some left for me!!!

Nice quality crisps UK made

I am not a fan of salt and vinegar crisps. Not at all. I actively avoid them. But having tried other Kent Crisps flavours and read the reviews, and loving actual oysters, I thought I would give these a try. These are delicious, and very moreish. There is no actual oyster in them, so you can't actually 'taste' the oyster, contrary to a previous review. I think that is important to mention, because it could put non oyster lovers off of buying these crisps. These are more a delicious salt and vinegar crisp, but somehow far superior to any salt and vinegar I have actually tasted, because I actually HATE salt and vinegar crisps, but somehow they have convinced me to place multiple orders for boxes of 20 of them, and eat them all myself. I think if you love salt and vinegar crisps, you will love these crisps. But I also think if you are not normally a fan of salt and vinegar crisps, chances are, like me, you will still love these crisps, and if you love oysters, there is a touch of the oyster about them, but that is more in the vinegar, I think, and the other flavourings, than any actual oyster. Essentially, they are lovely crisps, and are now my favourite from Kent Crisps.

A very unique flavour. Sadly I can't compare these to real oyster sauce as I've never knowingly had it.It's closest I'd say to Worcestershire sauce flavoured crisps of eras gone by perhaps with a bit of prawn cocktail.No other brand does this flavour that I'm aware of so there's no competition or anything I could definitively compare them to.I'd expect kettle chip lovers of salt & vinegar and prawn cocktail to like it. It is a very strong but pleasant taste.I first discovered these in my local Co-op. They also do the bigger bags so if you don't want to sample a huge box initially, try there.

I ordered the oyster/vinegar variety but was sent the salt and vinegar with biddenden cider instead as shown on the attached photo. I cant return them as they are consumables/food and have no means of getting the correct crisps.
