Now If I Could Just Get Good At It
I really need a "Yoga Basics For Old Fat Guys" book, but this one is really good. Been following Man Flow Yoga for a while, and, and have really learned a lot. The benefits of yoga are perfect for me - especially flexibility, core strength, controlled breathing. The stereotype of yoga being something for middle aged moms to do while kids are in school is a turn off. This program focuses on yoga for fitness and health, and it's hard. But the knowledge and passion in this book and the website are terrific. It's time for guys to realize that we don't need to bench press a house or outrun a motorcycle to be fit. We need to avoid injury through flexibility and good posture, avoid or recover quickly from health related problems through core strength and endurance, and maintain a positive and productive outlook on life by being healthy and feeling good. Yoga seems to support all of those ideals, and this is a great place to start.

Great yoga resource improved and expanded.
A great yoga resource got even better with this 2nd edition. I have the first edition and was hoping that Dean Pohlman would update it with even more poses. And this is it! After trying many other yoga instructional materials on DVDs, books, etc. I pretty much was giving up on it. I don't have time to go to formal classes, but the DVDs and books I tried fell short in explaining how to fine tune poses and execute them. Manflow Yoga changed that. This is yoga without the breathy instuctors saying "become the mountain" and other low information stuff. The instructions are straightforward and focus on the goals of the pose. For me, the real benefit from edition 2 is that it has a lot more poses. The focus of this instructional material is on improving mobility and general fitness.

Yoga...even if you are a "Manly-Man"
This guy know's what he is doing. About 6 months ago, he was training people at a location I work out. Having on/off back pains myself, I thought I'd give it a shot. Well...I the pains went away. I can't say it was fun , lol. It was hard. It was rewarding, but it was hard. It is nice to have a book of basics that breaks down the elements of yoga. I'll be honest, and say that I was not a fan of some of the elements of Yoga. Not because they are bad, but because they are not "manly" I know, I know..shovenist, right? Well, working with Dean showed me the way. After fighting through the mental battle, I gave it a shot. After a few weeks, I was able to see definition in a few places on my body. I was also able to feel my core tighten up and therefore my back pain subsided. Dean's approach was not too aggressive for me. He came from a "give-it-a-try" attitude. When I did I was able to see results. Well, now he travels and is not close to my gym. I've fallen off the Yoga train! Now that he has this book, I can get back on the train. The way it is written, you can hear Dean talking to you and coaching you on doing it right. Thanks Dean!

Yoga for men, anywhere you are.
GREAT resource for those who are using yoga as athletic exercise, and a great introduction to the concept created by Dean Pohlman, as well as an intro to the man himself (look up Man Flow Yoga on all social media so you can get the full benefit of Dean). Best thing about this is that I can take it with me on my iPad or iPhone to the gym, or especially traveling, and I'm all set for poses and routines wherever I am.This version is an update to the October 2014 edition, make sure you order THIS one from Amazon. Also, although Amazon's Kindle system said it could not deliver this to my iPhone 6plus as a delivery option, it was in the cloud on my Kindle app and it downloaded fine. Of course it looks much more awesome on the iPad, but the iPhone works well too. I can't speak to the formatting on any other iPhone though.

Great Intro Book for Men Interested in Yoga
This is a great book in terms of content. It goes over l the poses and shows a bunch of routines. You can hit your whole body or individual parts. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the formatting on my iPhone app. It seems to be designed as a pdf and not a true kindle book making it hard to resize text and look at pictures. Fix this and it it gets a 5

awesome
this guy is awesome. I've always wanted to learn how to yoga, but I felt like the yoga books/videos I found weren't geared for guys. This is great, it's easy to understand and follow for someone just starting out. It's a great accessory to my routine gym workouts too.

Really, No More Back Pain
I would not have integrated Yoga into my physicall fitness routine without reading Dean's books. I found that the instruction on how to do the poses and what muscle groups were being focused on as well as the order of the poses made Yoga work for me.I also doubled down and bought the I Phone App and I take my Yoga routine all over the world with me.Lastly, I have lived with back pain for years until I started the Man Flow Yoga, it really works!!!

Awesome - Give It A Go
Excellent book. Always wanted to start yoga and with this book its easy, simple to follow and has increased my flexibility and solved my back and knee problems. I have been doing it for just under a year. I have the first book dean brought out. This one is a lot better with more poses and the App that he released is also fantastic. Yoga is very hard and a great way to keep in shape and keep a healthy mind. Would recommend it to anyone who in the back of their minds always wanted to try it, give it a go you will be glad you did. A lot of men think oh i don't want to do yoga its for women, I have experienced this where I work a colleague said he had a bad back so I recommended yoga he shrugged it off, he doesn't know what he's missing. But anyway very well written and easy to follow, the pictures are great as well.

Basic... But not very practical. I would not buy again.
I've been looking for a book covering yoga specifically for men, as our bodies are different. However, I was disappointed and in the end went on to Dean's website and YouTube to find more practical forms of guidance. The book gives you all the basics but I was looking for a basic practical programme, which didn't readily come out from the book.

Excellent.
Dean's expertise is blatant throughout this book. He has a very simple and effective way of breaking down the poses, where they are targeting, how to do them and why. It is a very good introduction to yoga and after reading the first version I was compelled to buy his videos too. I gave it a few days of trying it out to write this review, but this second version is even better than the first and his clarity has really benefited me in understanding the poses. Cannot recommend it enough.

Just feels like an advert to his site
I thought this was very over priced for a book that just contains various poses and the workouts are just a list at the end of the book. The only way I think you could use the information would be to join the club, where there is a monthly fee which would surely bypass the need for this book.Overall the book feels like a written infomercial

The power of Yoga.
This book is straight forward easy to read and understand but challenging and rewarding to do.How hard can standing still be ?, get the book and try it.If this leads you into the world of 'man flow yoga' you will not be disappointed.Power to your elbow Dean because this has given power to mine and all the other joints and because of Yoga I feel better at 50 than I did at 40.Keep up the good work.
