This thing is so poorly made and assembled that I came to the conclusion it is a prank! It's literally unbelievably bad and was so frustrating to try to work with I had to convince myself the seller was pranking people to keep my faith in humanity.Upon receiving it and checking it out the foam piece disconnected from the wood (there was glue there but someone miraculously couldn't secure a tiny piece of foam to a tiny piece of wood). The blue end easily pops off and is not secured--a bad thing to realize when a queen is in there, oops there she goes! The mesh part was indented down into the cylinder so the queen has to be right in the middle to have any chance of painting her. But even if you get the queen pinned in the center guess what! The holes are so small you can only paint about 1/3 of her back AND the mesh is so thick you have to push down pretty hard with your pen, not good if you're using the typical pen that floods ink everywhere if you push down too hard- oops your whole queen is covered in paint! As if it couldn't get any worse the wooden handle on the plunger came disconnected the first time I tried using it even though it had been glued on. Yet again, how is that possible?!?!DO NOT purchase this little piece of crap unless you know a beekeeper you want to pull a prank on. My mind is blown by how cheaply made and assembled it is. Like I said I am literally telling myself it is a prank because I honestly don't believe someone could try at all and come up with a product as low quality as this marking plunger.

Recently purchased this and was surprised by the quality of the product. The clear tube is thick and strong. The plunger was of good quality. Was expecting much less because of the previous review but am very satisfied with it. I already used it for marking my queen and it worked flawlessly. Good product at a good price with fast delivery.

Works pretty good...just takes practice

Holes are just too small to get a paint pen tip through. Ended up soaking my queen in paint trying to push pen tip through tiny hole.

We used this to mark our first queen. nice plunger and queen was not agitated at all.

Poorly made. Screen is too small and thick to properly mark the queen-defeats the purpose. Small dowel is not glued straight to the plunger.

This plunger has come in quite handy for the purpose for which I bought it. It holds them safely until the paint dries and works well.
