Engaging God's Word: Job

Very good study overall
My only complaint is that Job has 42 chapters and the study covers this book by skipping some of the chapters. I always appreciate the commentary section of each lesson. Very helpful with background information and Think About/Personalize the lesson questions andcomments. Very good study overall.

Taking a terrible subject and making it a worthy read.
The issue with Job is not the CBS booklet, its the story itself. The redundancy of the first 26 chapters drives the reader to suffer as much as Job himself. The booklet is well written.

Practical book to study
Job leaves some questions unanswered (God never tells Job why he is suffering), but there are many practical lessons for us in Job. Job helps us understand that mere man cannot understand the almighty, complex mind of God. It helps us understand how to deal with discouragement, how to counsel a suffering friend (mostly by showing us what NOT to do), and the importance of keeping our eyes on Jesus rather than our circumstances. It ends with a great lesson on humility. This CBS study goes quickly through the bad advice of the friends and lingers more on God speaking to Job and Job learning humility before Him. It had a good blend of questions that helped to understand the passages and application questions.

Incredible Study!
Incredible study materials from Community Bible Study. Our ladies have loved the courses we've done.....the 20+ questions cover the scripture well and commentary is a good wrap up.

Excellent Study
Studying this book of Job along with the commentary on the book of Job by Stephen Kaung called "the Splendor of His Ways" really helped me understand the Word of God deeper. Now I understand Job is not about suffering at all, but about us maturing into what God wants us to become.
