We needed to replace our kitchen trash can and I found this one. It’s really wonderful. Hands free which is very helpful. It opens when you hold your hand over the lid and gives you time to put the trash in then closes automatically. Very nice trash can.

Was a little worried about this one given all the negative reviews but it turned out to be a winner. Arrived well packaged in good shape and dent free (would be VERY hard for this to be dented in shipping). The large battery load (4 D-cells, not included) is a bit of a pain since a lot of people don't have a lot of those sitting around. But given how often you open and close this thing in an average day, I guess you need the bigger batteries. And I have to admit it is designed well and works great. Standard 13 gallon bags fit great and stay in place with collar system. Folding the edges back in gives you a clean look. Opens and closes in a flash. With the right amount of stay open time to dump whatever you want to dump. If you need to keep in open longer, open it manually. Little indents on the front corner of the top door make it easy open and close by hand if you want.My only gripe is I find the photo electric eye a lot less sensitive than expected. You have to hold your hand (or the trash you want to throw away) within an inch or so of the sensor and leave it here for a second or two before the lid pops open. A quick wave of the hand will not do it. Neither will some irregular shaped objects since the beam cannot bounce back to the sensor.This is good if you worried about it opening when you dont want it to. Like when you are just walking by. But takes some getting used to.I can't speak to battery life or long term endurance of the electronics but in a week or so of use, it has performed well.

This is my second trash can like this. I have one in my office and now one in the kitchen. They both work flawlessly and I have had one of them for over two years. My daughter also has one in her house and it has worked perfectly for over 4 years. I love the way that the bag is out of sight and you can really fill it completely.The seller was just wonderful with quick shipping and packaging that protected the can during shipment.Just a great experience from start to finish.

Looks good. However product is very lightweight. Don’t know how it will hold out. Also not completely enclosed. Notion has air vents which is not wanted for a garbage pail as odor would seep out.

This is the perfect trashcan to add a little style to your kitchen. I'm renting in between selling my house and buying another and wanted something stylish enough to have out in my much smaller kitchen. This fits the bill perfectly! It fits the standard size kitchen garbage bags, and there is an inner ring that hides the edge of the bag, with no slippage or having to reach in to pull the sides up. The motion sensor is sensitive enough to open the lid when walking by but I haven't found that to be bothersome at all. I've also found that the lid stays open as long as your hand or something is over the sensor (i.e. scraping plates off) so you don't have to worry about the lid closing before you're done. I'm very happy with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy this item again!
