Ten years ago Yellowcard released OCEAN AVENUE and shortly after with the album title track becoming a radio hit, OCEAN AVENUE became a platinum selling record and Yellowcard was launched into pop-punk stardom. Today the band returns with a re-issue of the record featuring newly arranged acoustic versions of the original album tracks. OCEAN AVENUE ACOUSTIC is a collectors piece for long-standing fans as well as an album for those fans looking to revisit 2003.

Item was in perfect condition
Love the acoustic version of this album, was hopeful that the condition of the vinyl would be playable and much to my surprise it was in great condition. We all know that new and unopened doesn't always translate into pristine vinyl, but in this case it did.

A great iteration of a classic popular album
I've enjoyed Yellowcard for quite some time. My rating is of course biased as I've enjoyed the dynamics of the band throughout the years. With the release of this album I was refreshed with memories from years back when I first enjoyed the Ocean Avenue release. However there is something a bit different about this album aside from the obvious that it's an acoustic-only rendition. What I noticed right away was the refinement of the band from all their years of experience. It's easy to just chalk up my experience as being bias and also comparing an apple to an orange due to the change in musical dynamics, but I can tell that after years of playing these songs, the band has really come together. In addition to the improved arrangement of the band, I also sense that the recording itself is an improvement. That could be the result of many reasons such as improvements in the recording process and studio, the quality of equipment, the experience of the audio engineer, etc. none the less, it could also be the simplicity of acoustical instruments vs the harshness that can be associated with reproducing electric guitars. If you're a fan of Yellowcard you won't be disappointed with this release. If you're new to the band, this is also a good entry point. Give them a chance, listen to the samples and give this album a buy. Buy the CD and get the mp3s ripped for you from Amazon. It's that simple.

I've been waiting for this since the original Ocean Avenue
I'm a huge fan of YellowCard and I'm a huge fan of their acoustic work. The acoustic version of When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, however, I wasn't completely blown away with this one as I was with WYTTSY. Some of the early songs are a little strange, I'm not sure exactly what it is but it just didn't quite sound right on a few of them. Don't get me wrong, they're still great. The good thing though, is that the majority of the songs (especially 23 and One Year, Six Months) are really awesome. I absolutely love how they went with the piano for One Year, Six Months - just incredible.Bottom line: If you love YellowCard (or even if you just kind of like them) definitely get this album. Even if you're just a fan of some good acoustic music, you need to buy this right now.

Love this album and it's even better in acoustic
Love this album and it's even better in acoustic, especially perfect for a beach trip.Little heads up, I ordered this on my phone app and it originally said Autorip available on the search page, I found out the hard way, if it doesn't specifically say "Sold by Amazon.com" on this page then it is NOT available for Autorip.

Phenomenal!
I was such a huge fan of the original ocean Avenue, i was thinking there was no way it could get better. This proves to be true. While this acoustic may not be better, it is right on par with it. The songs i feel in love with 10 years ago, i can now hear in a completely stripped down acoustic set. Such an amazing album start to finish.

Boom.
Yellowcard has been slaving away in the studio for years pumping out an album every year since 2011. Ocean Avenue was their best selling album, being that album's 10th Anniversary they thought: What better way than to make it into an acoustic version. Many people can't do acoustic, Ryan Keys sure can. My favorites on this album are my favorites on Ocean Avenue from 2003; which are: Breathing, Ocean Avenue, and Believe.I'm going to their show in Denver. See you there!

Great reditions of some classics from my school days!
I love this album. It really has been too long since I listened to Yellowcard. Still the words all came to my mind while listening to this cd. A real classic if you listened to Yellowcard back in the day. My only complaint is with Amazon. When I downloaded the songs onto my computer, many of them skip as if they are on a scratched up cd. They play fine in my cloud player though. Maybe I just need to re-download them.

After seeing this show live and listening to it on Amazon music for several years this is awesome to have on vinyl.

Great idea, average results..
When hearing an acoustic version of a song I expect a different feel/style to the original, as well as alternative instruments. Many of these tracks are basically the same as the originals but with acoustic instruments. Also, with everything else stripped down the drums come across a bit heavy. I feel they should have used other percussion rather than a kit.Stand out tracks:Empty Apartment <Best by far. A very chilled out and mellow version of the original track. Sounds lovely.Twenty ThreeOne Year Six Months

Ottimo sottofondo

Incredibile!

Descrizione errata, vinile nero
Spedizione ovviamente impeccabile ma il vinile doveva essere L edizione limitata come messo in descrizione invece è arrivata la classica versione nera. Non lo rimando indietro solo perché altrove non lo troverei. Peccato
