Recommended to me by a dietician with 30 yrs experience showing grand champion Pomeranians.
The pictures of my Pomeranians say it all. Grand Champion Carleez Drumroll Please & Service Dog Carleez Sir Percy Noble Wolf. Blackwoods kibble is more costly but the reward of quality kibble can clearly be seen in the healthy coats and bright eyes of my dogs. Their breeder has been showing Poms for 30 yrs with countless champions and grand champions. Raising and showing Pomeranians is her hobby, her day job is a dietician for the health department. Different breeders prefer different foods but my advice is spend the extra💲give your fur family member good health and use Blackwoods kibble. DON'T OVER FEED! Follow the directions for your breed and the proper amount for size and weight. Over feeding unhealthy weight. Overweight issues cause serious health problems and shortens life span. 🐾

Number "1" at our house !
Our puppy was very fussie right off the bat! I luckily found a bag of this brand for her at our local grocery store and altho a bit more expensive than some, she loved it immediately and still does! I love that all the ingredients are so good for her and she is the picture of good health! My thanks to the company who makes this !

My picky pup likes it! I only wish I had bought more when it was first introduced as now it is slightly pricey for me.

High Quality Kibble With An Excellent Mix Of Ingredients
We like the blended formulas that Blackwood offers. Our Jack Russell has a sensitive stomach, but he tolerates the salmon meal/field pea recipe very well, and looks forward to his meals. I can see why—I always eat a handful of any new dry kibble we introduce to our dogs. This formula has a pleasant fish taste and a nice crunchy texture. Because the pieces are small, this would be an ideal mix for older dogs who have trouble chewing or limited teeth in their mouths. The pieces would be very easy to swallow and digest.I’m convinced our dogs thrive on a mix of animal and plant based proteins which offer better overall nutrition by covering a wider variety of protein sources. All the Blackwood formulas we’ve tried have impressive ingredient lists—high quality protein in the form of animal and plants (like field peas, chickpeas, lentils, etc) as well as fats, minerals and vitamins. Another reason I like Blackwood products is because they offer a refund if your dog refuses to eat their dog food. An address, phone number and website is clearly listed on each bag. And this may be minor, but it means a lot to me—the tops of Blackwood bags reseal wonderfully—I wish all bags, including human food products, opened and closed as well as this unique design does. Our four dogs eat this formula with gusto, and the food sensitive one has no stomach issues with it at all.

dog won't eat it
I liked the ingredients and price but my dog won't eat it. I've even mixed it with canned food and she just spits out the kibbles.

Great ingredients and dog likes it
I can only judge a pet food on a couple of merits -- the main one being the ingredient list, which is impressive. It's either spend money on better food, or spend the money at the vets later, so to me, the price for better ingredients is definitely worth it. The dog food is made from all sorts of really good-for-you proteins and vegetables, with nothing artificial that I could see. I really like that it is a small kibble, because my dog doesn't care for large dry kibble. She'd never had a salmon-based kibble before, either, so I wasn't sure how she'd like this, but she dove right into it and ate it all, without her usual picking up a piece or two and setting it on the floor first. So, I'm assuming she likes the taste.

Nope.
We got this food to try when one of the brands that we regularly buy ended up being almost $100 for a 30# bag. We got one bag for our Labradane, a bag of the small breed for our pug and papillon and then the sensitive cat food for our old kitty. They all arrived at the same time so it was very easy to give everyone the new food at the same time. We change all their food during the year trying different brands and never have any issues with them eating- they seem to like everything. Until we got this brand. They all looked at us like we were crazy. Not one of them from big dog, to little dog to cat will eat this food. 4 different animals, 3 kinds of this brand of food. No one is touching it. We’ve never had this happen and even after 3 days of trying they’ve hardly eaten. Got a different brand of food for them and they are eating that just fine. Over $120 of supposedly “good food” completely wasted. Seems like it works for others, not our household.

Photo of ingredients list
I always try to post a photo of the ingredients listed in dog food, it helps those of us with sensitive dogs.I have a 10 year old older dog and a 9 week old puppy. Both seem to enjoy this food in Salmon & pea flavor. No problems or issues. The kibble is small (like puppy kibble, about 1/2 the size of a US dime) so good for smaller dogs too.If my photos were helpful to you, please let me know by clicking helpful below.
