used on Easy Wood tool
I bought the Easy Rougher Ci1 - the cutters cost $16 each. These inserts are the perfect size for this tool and so far they cut just as good. I hope to update this after using them for a while to determine how long their cutting edge remains sharp. For only a quarter the price however, they are a bargain for use on this tool. Now I need to find a round one to use on the Easy Finisher.

At this price I'll always have a sharp edge!
These inserts fit perfectly on the full size Easy Rougher tool, using the standard mounting screw. However, they are not identical to the Easy replacement inserts. I noticed the following differences in the Byrd Tool inserts:- slightly thicker- slightly sharper- a number is etched into each corner (nice way to see at a glance how many unused edges are left)- price is about 1/5 that of the brand name partsSo far I have only turned one Leyland cypress bowl (with great results), so I can't speak to performance on difficult hardwoods. But these cutters are designed for production use cutting hardwoods on a high speed planer head, so I'm optimistic. And if they do prove to chip easily, I'm OK with rotating to a new edge. At 63 cents per edge, who cares? At the moment they seem like a super deal. More to follow after some experience with salvaged oak, locust and holly.Update: Turned two locust bowls with good results. Black Locust is hard, tough, abrasive and notoriously hard on cutting tools. Halfway through the second bowl I rotated my cutter to the second new edge, but I'm not sure I needed to. No chipping whatsoever in spite of fairly heavy cutting. I am convinced that these are every bit as good as the Easy inserts, if not better.

There OK
You get a bunch of these at a good price. However They don't seem to last .. I have chipped one of these already just turning wood .. Got two hollow forms out of one before the cutter was junk .. Hope the rest of these are not like this. They do fit the harrison tools .

Works with Simple Wood Tools Simple Rougher
I was able to replace the cutter head for the Simple Wood Tools Simple Rougher with these carbide cutters with no issues. The Simple wood tools uses a 14 mm cutter, and these are 15 mm, but these are about 50% thicker than the Simple Wood Tools replacements, and they mount perfectly in the tool with the original screw. I have not tried cutting yet, but I see no reason why it would not work just fine. I got 10 of these for less than the price of 2 from Harrison Specialties. There have a 4 inch radius rather than the square cut that comes with the Simple Rougher from the factory. I don't see an option to get true square cutters from Byrd Tool. That would be nice.

Great investment
I recently purchased a Shelix cutter head for both my DeWalt 13" planer, and my 20 year old Jet jointer. Along with each unit you will receive a box of 10 additional carbide cutters. I wanted to make sure that if I ever wrecked one of the heads I would have a full set of replacement cutters so I bought one more set of 10. I have been planing a bunch of maple for butcher block counter tops and these cutters perform wonderfully.

Not nearly as good as original inserts
Several inserts had noticeable wear after only a couple of boards. Product description claimed made in USA, but packaging said Germany.

perfect replacement!
Works great on my 6" jointer to replace some shattered ones. You would be advised to use a torque wrench to tighten them, don't ask how I know!
