Easy to install not bulky at all my ds feels more secure love the blue color tone on the protective case

It’ll protect your 2DS, but it is quite easy to snap off the top piece of the shell. Sometimes it’ll even come off by itself mid game.

The case is visually appealing, but doesn't sit flush on the device. While playing, I tend to get distracted by it. Scuffs up pretty easily, but I guess that's the point.

Case feels good and fits well. This is a great option if you don't like the cheaper build quality of the New 2DS XL (which gets scratched easily) and don't mind a case that covers the design of the console. Case has some padding on the inside too, which is definitely appreciated. As for the outside, the brushed aluminum texture with the shiny blue color looks amazing.The case gently snapped onto the console without much effort, yet it feels solid and doesn't feel like it will slip off. However, like with any hard shell case, be careful and take your time when applying/removing the case (especially the bottom piece) to avoid scratching or scuffing the console. Also, when applying, remove any debris that might get caught between the case and the console.One important thing to mention is that your fingers will press up against the top piece of the case when using the shoulder buttons, so if you play games that require heavy use of the shoulder buttons (most notably L and R), then this case might not be the right one for you due to lack of space in that area. However, the shoulder buttons are still usable and don't bother me when playing games that require light use of those buttons. Plus, the top piece is easily removable anyway if I feel like removing it during gameplay (which I haven't so far).Ideally, I would have liked for the entire inside of the case to be covered with padding. Also, for more comfortable gameplay, I would have liked rounded edges near the corners where I place the base of my thumbs while playing. However, purchasing this case was a great way to give a premium feel to a console with cheaper build quality and protect the outside from scratches and other wear. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase of this shell case.

Unlike a different plastic case this one stays on the the 2DS XL and seems to offer decent protection. It looks and feels good too without hindering function. If caught at the right angle it looks a little bumpy, or wavy but it feels totally smooth. Overall a great protective case.
