great music from the Canadian wilderness
I got this CD on a family vacation to Canada in June 2001. I've always enjoyed New Age music, and having bought Going to the Sun a few days earlier, my parents and I decided to get this one as well. The tracks appear to represent a two-day camping trip: the first day starts with "Kootenay Sunrise" in the morning and ends with "Whistler's Twilight" in the evening. The second day begins with "Summer Rain" and concludes with "Trail's End" as the music calms down.I really loved this CD, although I personally liked "Going to the Sun" better. In any case, The Sounds of The Canadian Rockies is something I'm proud to have in my collection. The only caveat is that the CD was somewhat expensive - it was around $15 or so, and that's based on 2001 prices - but I certainly have no regrets buying it.-- TL;DR version --Pros: High-quality sounds and musicCons: It's a little priceyBottom line: The Sounds of The Canadian Rockies is a must-have for anyone who enjoys nature and music,Final verdict: 4.5 stars (rounded up to five)

Soothing, relaxing
I got this album about 9 years back during my honeymoon trip to the Canadian Rockies. Thought I was just buying it as a memento initially, it became one of my favourite music album. When I play the music with my surround sound system, just by closing my eyes, I felt emersed, like in the forrest of the rocky mountains, with the sound of running water and insects in the background. it's the only album that can bring total relaxness to me.If you like Kevin Kern's music, you should like this.
