Gold Soutache 2.5 mm Gold Metallic Shiny Braided Cord Beading, Sewing,Quilting Trimming String 10 Yards

This gold Soutashe product does not have the feel of durability nor is it made in the way products with this name used to be. I have some gold left from many years back that is more durable and even a teeny fraction wider. Its groove down the center is not as distinct/strong as the old product has which is what makes it so nice to stitch in for the creative project I used it for. Have found now, that the same quality of Soutache cord appears to be unavailable any more as I began to search for and did order some by that name. Rather disappointed in what I got and could look at first hand. (The hazard of online buying which I don`t like -- I am from the "old school" of seeing and feeling most things I buy) Local sewing stores don`t seem to carry it in pkgs and color varieties any more like there used to be. The older version was more woven or braided looking in some tiny way of making it, giving it a more durable feeling to work with. So, I am not completely satisfied with this current version, but will keep it. There are other colors from another source I found online and purchased recently, as well. They aren`t the same either in the way they are made, however, they have a little more durability feel than this gold does. It appears that Soutache braid/cord like I knew in the past is not available any longer. I am not using it for jewelry making as some show it for, but wanted some for uses in craft sewing, etc. Some black I had from years past in my sewing stuff was the perfect item to use in outlining a specific image to make it stand out in a small quilting type project I made several of last year for Christmas gifts, so that is how I came to look for more of this type of product for future uses. Am not very pleased to learn there doesn`t seem to be the same exact type anymore.
