This worked great for the divider section in my glass sump for my reef tank.My skimmer is working properly and it is not causing any un even water level sections across the 3 sections of the sump due to clogging or over size issues but still traps the detritus and unwanted particles. Pretty impressed and I even have extra for replacement down the road if needed.

Exactly what I needed for my aquarium project! You can cut it to the right size for application. I searched all pet stores in my area and couldn't find a thick sponge filter media without a hole in middle, they were either too course or too fine

I bought this to avoid having to buy the replacement kits for my pets water fountain.Pros:-Value. I can cut about 18 filters from the 12"x23" sheet of foam(about $1ea). On top of buying the carbon filters in bulk ($1ea), it costs much less that the fountain replacement kits ($10 ea for 1 foam and 3 carbon filters).-Flair. I can get the foam in different colors, not that it matters, but it is nice.CONs:-Work. You have to cut your own filters. In my case though, I'm good for 18mo once done.Overall, highly recommended as it is an excellent value if you're willing to put in a tiny bit of work. For me it is about $60 per 18 months compared to about $200 for the replacement kits.

I like the custom size cut-ability and has good flow performance for this type of filter. Cleans out nicely and seems sturdy overall.

Not sure what to say other than I ordered filter foam and received filter foam. Product exactly as described.

Built my first Matten filter with one of these for the edge of a 5.5 gallon glass tank. Trimmed to fit 8" x 8.75" with an X-Acto knife and bought the pvc pipe at Home Depot. Put everything together and voila. Perfect fit and works great. I will be purchasing this item from this seller again as soon as I'm ready to build more Matten filters inside my other tanks.The first place I bought from on ebay was folded twice and flimsy and thin and useless.Thank you so much for a great product.

People might not know that there are three sizes in these sponges, Blue: 20 PPI Coarse Green: 30 PPI Medium Black: 40 ppi Fine.I ordered Green, the perfect coarse for my first stage mechanical filteration in my 207 Fluval, the vertical sponges. I believe it's little bit thick, because it's almost 2 inches thick, but great quality. The fluval fiter has more coarse first stage filter sponge than I prefer, therefore I removed Fluval company sponge and inserted this one. Easy to cut with scissor and perfectly textured sponge. Great Buy.

Might be hard to tell in the pic but I ordered two of the same size / color sponge and this is what came. They are two different shades of blue AND they are not the same density. The lighter blue one (Left) is much more dense. The darker one (right) is much more coarse. I would classify the light blue one as a medium sponge and the right one as a coarse sponge. You'd expect to get the same product if you order two of the same. Nothing wrong with the sponges and they shipped quickly. Just disappointed to see the lack of quality control
