This coil replaces the old one and is straight forward once you have the dryer taken apart. The clips require needle nose pliers to straighten the slotted connector but otherwise very easy. I did the eye test to space the clips because the number of coils was different from the oem product. I also replaced the thermostats since I was in there and they’re cheap. Running like new.

Failed in 2 seconds. heat for 2 seonds then a flash of light from coil area (had top of dryer off). Was super carefull on install, even wore gloves to not get oil from hands on the coils. 25 years as microelectronics engineer and 10 years as avionics tech before that. Sucessfully replaced power relay on control board last year and howling blower fan 2 years before that in this same dryer. Coils measured 12.2 ohms before powered up. Counted old coils at 206 turns. counted this new one at 216 turns. Not fun counting, why couldn't the number of turns be listed in product description! Would have saved me time counting and recounting. Whoever made the thing knows exactly how many turns it has!Shipped in padded envelope (not a box). Didn't see any evidence of damage (like crushed coils) from poor packaging but the packaging is poor none the less.Ok looks like it was my fault after all! Upon removal there was evidence of arcing to the drum. Too bad on my dryer there is no good way to access the heater terminals after the drum is installed. Otherwise I could have checked for short to drum before powering it up. So the lesson is make sure neither of the leadin wires rise above the height of the coils.Oh and by the way recount of coils yielded 219 while recount of original gave 207. Upped review to 3 stars.

My husband installed this. Only had a couple of screws left over after he finished. Saved a lot of money doing it ourselves and dryer works great now.

Exactly what was needed to repair the dryer. Anyone with mechanical ability can perform simple parts replacement.

Just installed this yesterday and ran to dry cycles, so far so good; the coil is not as heavy duty as the original one but we will see how long it lasts.

Looks much better than the old one, ha ha. This actually wasn't the problem part, but we decided to replace it while the dryer was disassembled. It was pretty easy to put in and has been working fine. It gently snaps over ceramic clips that are on another part of the dryer (the clips aren't included).

A dryer is one of those appliances that is tough to go without, especially if you have no means to air dry large volumes of clothes. So when it breaks and the solution is obvious, you fix it at as fast as possible. I usually buy OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) whenever possible. Unfortunately, the delivery time difference between aftermarket and OEM was a week, so I took a chance. Shame on me. 18 months later, I'm dismantling the dryer to replace the element again. Do yourself a favor, if you can afford the extra cost and wait time, go with OEM whenever you can.
