Silverwing SWT90 Hard Clam Shell Roof Tent

Seems to be the result of some trial and error, came with some scratches but still in plastic wrap. Nothing has fallen apart yet and we’ve had it out a handful of times over the past few months. I think the price is a little steep for the convenience factor and it collects tons of condensation by morning.However, stayed completely dry and warm in a heavy mountain rain and I think that counts

poorly constructed, sub frame is not square, welder burned hole in frame, headliner is not glued in, decals are falling off. choppy head liner install. - update I've only used this a handful of times and it's falling apart. The shell is made of a lightweight material that has a lot of flex. (Plastic?) In any case and think it's not a durable enough material for the support assembly. I've not even had this product for a full year :(

I purchased this tent online with cosco, it is a very great tent with a very sturdy ladder that retracts and a very comfortable bed. I took one star off because the straps that hold it down are very cheap and two of them snapped already so I had to order stainless steel ones and some nylon material to sow it back in which is a pain to do and is unacceptable for the price that I paid for this to happen within six months of very little use. The second flaw is the other clips that attach to it have rusted horribly and I had to sand them down and paint them all within six months of my purchase. Update: the corners have now cracked due to the cold weather if I had known this I would have reinforced the corners but no way to know this

Good choice for a budget hard shell RTT. These are basically mass-produced in China, if you purchase enough of them they brand it. With that said, we've spent dozens of nights, in all sorts of conditions, warm, dry, and comfortable. Recommend oiling the latches regularly to prevent rust. I typically use a tie strap across the top in case the roof rack fails at high speed. Like using safety chains on a trailer. Setup is simple. Taking it down is easy as well. We can leave in the ladder, sleeping bags, pillows and still make it close easily, it's just a matter of trial and error. Overall great purchase. Paid under $2,000 for ours.

I bought this tent March 2020 and it seems Silverwing has improved upon the flaws previously mentioned in the reviews. The silver clasp that others say is prone to rust seems to have been removed (see photo), and the straps appear to be improved and have last well so far. We've taken this tent on about 12,000 miles between 2 trips last year, camping every single night (probably been used at least 60 times and held up great so far).The customer service is also amazing, I've had nearly a dozen emails speedily answered helping me with everything from sizing fits for our rack before we bought the tent, to recommendations for security nuts to prevent theft.
