Soo informative
I'm so glad I ordered this book! I've been seeing it being recommended from many astrologers, and it's so good. Explains natal moon placements and progressed moons very well.

Moon Over Morocco and Astrology of the Moon
I was born Sagittarian, so it's not surprising that even though I live and work in Chicago and Indiana, I am writing this now in the Southwest and next Tuesday I will be in Paris on my way to Fez. You can imagine then how surprised I was to find myself thinking of alphabetizing my spice labels instead of downloading audible books for my trip. I thought, ah ha, my progressed moon must be in Virgo and ya know, it was!I received this book as a gift, I have already bought another copy as a gift and I plan to give it as a gift again because of charming clarity Anyone can find their natal moon description and house position many books have this but but it's beyond cookbook. Steven Forrest in fact welcomes Amy (despite her youth) to the "mature astrological community " in his preface to this refreshing and readable reference book.Meanwhile this book is a delight because it also covers the progressed moon and its placement in houses, if you are on Amazon just click on CLICK INSIDE! And check out the coherent table of contents and look at the clarity and list of Goodies that will delight you. You can tell it's worth buying ! As a natal moon in Aries in the fifth house, I am flabbergasted that I am thinking of organizing spice jars, much less alphabetically, but perhaps in this culinary journey with friends to Fez, I can have my progressed moon take over.Although my progressed moon in Virgo is distressed I would even think of posting this review, my Sag and Aries says, oh what the heck people get the drift you're traveling no one is expecting a book review for goodness sake. So...This is a great book and a fun and enjoyable read. You can keep it in your car and just check out everyone you know over visits to a café over the year. Hey, it might happen. You could be a Triple Cancer that never leaves you cozy kitchen and with a progressed Moon in Sadge decide that you just need to have a scone with your tea from the coffee shop down the way.And it is on the Kindle. I just downloaded some sample chapters for my trip back to the Midwest tomorrow.............I posted this review before I left for Fez a few weeks ago. When I got back Itook it down to edit it and add a few things that might entice a book buyer who's progressed Moon has gone into Sagittarius! and might want to read some suggestionsfor reading a book that I ordered earlier along with the Kindle book I downloadedbefore I left....I recommend A House in Fez: Building a Life in the Ancient Heart of Morocco and The Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca .

great books for a beginner
Amy's books are great for beginners. I have also had trouble finding books on astrology that were written for a beginner to understand. Amy has done a great job doing just that. I look forward to my Astrology studies now that I have both her books to guide me.

Grounded in Heart and Soul
Amy Herring's intuitive astute psychological/spiritual perspective informs her wonderful book about one of the most fundamental influences on a person astrologically, The Moon. She has a way of conveying sophisticated subtle astrological concepts in a simple, direct, conversational manner that makes the Astrology of the Moon and easy read, despite its depth and complexity. Her capacity to go to the heart of the matter created a feeling in me that I had understood something centrally important about each topic she discusses. The book is structured in such a way that it is very useful as a reference text. It is easy to look up and read a particular section about, for instance, the Progressed moon in Virgo or the Progressed Moon through the Eighth House. I recommend this book both to beginning students of Astrology as well as those with an advanced understanding, because it speaks to the reader on multiple levels simultaneously.

Highly recommend.....
This book gave me astrological insights into the moon that I have never read before. It is very comprehensive, giving explanations for the natal moon in each of the signs & houses as well as the progressed moon through each sign & house. There are quotes that illuminate the ideas that follow, such as: Progressed Moon through the first house, "You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue."- Mike Murdock, or Progressed Moon in Virgo: "I set my star so high that I would constantly be in motion toward it." - Sidney Poitier. Also helpful are section headings such as: "Don't like it? Fix it!; Make Yourself Useful; If It Ain't Broken; Raising the Bar (all giving you a sense of the issues dealt with during progressed Moon in Virgo). I found it unique and helpful as well as enjoyable to read. And so I highly recommend it.

A BIG Surprise for A Beginner
After getting overwhelmed with several Astrology books and trying to make sense out of them and finding some synthesis for my own understanding and also wanting to be able to "read" other charts, "The Astrology of the Moon" came as a breath of fresh air with it's clear and usable descriptions - ahhh - the Moon, I could make connections with Amy's descriptions for individual signs, my own and friends and family. I did some "sharing" - no, I can't call them readings - and friends were amazed with the extensive insights from just a few paragraphs. Anybody can do that as soon as one gets the Moon sign and also the Progressed Moon chart.I also recommended it highly in our local Astrology group.Christel Kraft

Advanced
Definitely not a beginner book, I'd recommend her other book Essential Astrology first. When you are ready to deepen your understanding then this is a great purchase and has everything you need to know including progressed moons.

A must have!
I purchased Amy Herring's book to take on a overseas trip, and was even able to created my lunar journal as explained in the book, giving me some insight in the unfoldment of my life and personality. I`ve found it very informative and easy to use. The moon reveals our emotional character, and what we came here with to complete. The movement of the progressed moon shows our development by making aspects to our natal planets revealing significant turning points in our life. The book is clearly written making us understand our needs by our natal moon and our evolutionary development by our current progressed moon. A must have book, or a great gift to give!
