This is a great idea for a shackle protective cover. Most of them come from the inside of the profile and although they work, the coverage is not great and they tend to slip around.These work perfect for standard shackles, (3/4" with a 7/8" shank). I just finished my bumper welding project and I wanted to protect my project (and paint) from the shackles slamming around when out in the woods/mountains...or for the everyday pothole.I supplemented the install with a zip tie around one side just to keep them from slipping, but I don't think they would seeing how they fit when I installed them. But the ziptie works great as well and does not stick out beyond the rubber, so the rubber will make contact with the bumper before the ziptie will.I also recommend these isolators sold here on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J2BKY0I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1I had never seen something like this, most of them are just flat rubber washers, these are cone shaped and really compress to fit the space they are filling between the shackle eye and the bumper eyelet. They fit snug and the shackle can rotate, but it takes some effort. No more swinging shackles smacking the bumper. Although if they did, it wouldn't matter, these 2 products have you covered on all angles.

Got rid of the clanking of my hooks in the wind off the bumper . Simple to install and worked great

There is no way to just slip the washers on because they are too thick. I had to use a wood dowel and a hammer to pound the second washer into place on each side. With some coaxing, it's possible to get the washers into position. Once you have it close, you can stick a screw driver into the hole and pull the washer by it's center hole into alignment with the shackle mount hole. The good thing about this is once you finally get them on, the shackles don't move at all without a little elbow grease. They're really tight. So because of that, the lower, arched protective cover isn't even needed to protect the bumper. They are not swinging freely into it at all.

They look great! The washers are useless because they are too thick. I used a little liquid nails for added security and because they would be ease to steal.
