Answer: one second.Just one second of not thinking and the Ipod has sung her last song....not thinking that an Ipod is a little computer, with a little hard drive that just won't play nice with a strong magnet, I ordered this, slapped it on the dash, and the pod on the magnet. As soon as it died (a few minutes later), it hit me what had happened - google "Ipod v Magnet" and the results are, well, conclusive.Item works great on phone, holds fine without adding the disks on the back. Ditto on the former ipod/new mini-boat anchor (hey, Tidy Bowl man, I've got the perfect anchor for you, cheap too!).Obviously I was out to lunch on this one, only thinking of how cool having full iPod controls at my finger tips was gonna be, but people, would it kill ya to put a little WARNING IN YOUR DESCRIPTIONS, SUCH AS "NOT FOR IPODS OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES WITH A HARD DRIVE" - I doubt I'm the only person in the world that would do/did this, I hope its not just me anyway.A little skull and cross bones on the label would go a long way, you know?I hope this prevents any further unnecessary iPod deaths.

Fantastic product. Wish I could find it in retail too.
