Plug and Play
We love our Matrox Monarch. It was easy to set up and functions flawlessly every time. I highly recommend this product!

My Matrox Monarch is not working....
It worked intermittently for a couple of months after it was purchased. I thought it was my internet service provider, so I upgraded it. The issues continued, so we upgraded our internet services to a higher bandwidth. That did not resolve the issue. Since my purchase, I have mostly livestreamed Sunday Services from my iPad. It won't even live stream now. I purchased it in July 2020 along with a protection plan. I am trying to figure out how to return the item since the coverage on the item is no longer valid and the protection plan folks didn't give clear directions. I have packed it up in the box but don't know where to begin....This is so frustrating.

It didn’t work with our cameras
It doesn’t really fit well we need to do plus it didn’t work with the cameras we used with it therefore it’s really not useful for us but I’m sure it’s great for others.

A Good Product with Good Support
The Matrox Monarch HD is good, not great mind you, product. It is a bit rough around the edges which makes it a bit user unfriendly. Could not get the USB recording to work predictably, even when I used a powered USB (good luck finding one of those). The help desk did get me to some newer pdf's to help me set up a Windows 10 share that would work with the device, but it would have been a bit better if the Matrox support ftp or sftp. It also runs a bit warmer than I like and I am going to try some heat sinks on the case, but better now that I have the USB option unused. Like I said, a bit rough around the edges, but it is now working dependably.

Never worked right
Had multiple issues with streaming and recording at the same time..Multiple audio delayglitchy video with ustreamTech service was good, but never got the problem fixed

It's getting better with each software revision
It's taken us awhile to get this unit to perform at a reasonably high level with our clients. The software updates have helped a lot. Still sometimes the software and encoding is buggy. I have 80/50 fiber and had a professional IT guy setup my firewall and gigabit switch. I wish the monarch was a little more reliable with QuickTime or VLC, the clients need simple.

I like the ease of live streaming to youtube with one button. It also allows me to save a local copy of the video production to my NAS drive in the studio. We have encountered a couple times that it stopped streaming and didnt reconnect. That is a little dissapointing
