DEMDACO Dean Crouser Blue Jay Bird Watercolor Blue 16 Ounce Glossy Ceramic Stoneware Bird Mug with Easy Grip Handle

BACKGROUND:Have several 16 ounce Dean Crouser coffee mugs. Most were purchased at a local store and for about $14.99. The ones on amazon have been more expensive. My store did not have this mug. Now and then there are minor manufacturing defects on the mugs. Found that out when looking at purchasing the Cardinal mug locally. At the local store I usually purchase them from, the Cardinal Dean Crouser mug had bumps on the inside of the mug. This made me nervous about ordering them online. However, they did not have the Blue Jay mug and it was just so pretty, that I put it on my wish list along with a couple of other mugs. They are just lovely and work well for my morning coffee.REVIEW:Colors are as advertised. The Blue Jay is as shown in the images and placed perfectly on the mug. The inside blue color of the mug matches the bird blue color very nicely. It is smooth and silky on the inside. No bumps or issues with the materials. Have been using it for about a month. No issues at all. I hand clean it most of the time, but also run it through the dishwasher too. I have several other Dean Crouser water color mugs. Some I have had for 5 years. They last and the color is as pretty today as it was when I bought them. All of them get a good cleaning in the dishwasher on occasion. Have also warmed up my coffee in these mugs in the microwave with no issues.I absolutely and unequivocally can recommend Dean Crouser coffee mugs. They are so decorative, that you may wish to have them sitting out, like I do. Good enough for everyday use and also elegant enough to serve with an after dinner desert to friends.Have never dropped any of my mugs, thankfully, but as they are stonewear, I would expect them to break.

This is a really great gift item. The woman across the hall is a great bird fancier. She has several birds in her home and also puts out food for the outdoor birds.She stoped by a few weeks ago and gave my partner and I two Covid 19 masks that her sister had made. They were well made but had ribbons that had to be tied. That was a bit of a problem because they tended to slip down. We never mentioned that to her but about 10 days later she showed up with 2 more that had elastic bands. Her sister wasn't able to get the bands when she made the first ones.Anyway, we wanted to thank her for being kind and thinking about us not once but twice! This gift was the perfect answer.

I put this cup on my husbands Christmas list (things to consider buying me instead of a toaster:)I was never going to buy myself a $20 coffee cup (not when you can get them for $5 at Walmart).So, he did gift it to me and I love it.I like a big mug for coffee (a two-cup mug) and this is a tiny bit smaller than I would choose (it's more like a 1 and 1/2 cup mug), but I love it. It's very pretty and I love the green on the inside.I was worried that it would be delicate and break easily, but it is sturdy and I think I'll have it for a long time.

I have been searching for a true cardinal picture on a large mug with a big handle. This mug has all of that. The cardinal is beautiful, vibrant and as true as any picture that I have found. The mug is heavy enough to keep my coffee warm without being to heavy to lift (I have arthritis). Although the base is tapered, I haven't found it "tippy" as in a review because of the ceramic's sturdiness. The dark color on the inside isn't a true red but compliments the red of the bird. I enjoy looking at the cardinal while sipping by coffee. Beautiful mug is a great addition to my morning uplifting. I'm very happy with it.

This is a lovely mug with a beautifully painted cardinal on the side that faces a right-hand drinker. I usually don't like mugs that have anything but a white interior but made an exception given the beauty of the cardinal image. It's sturdy in your hand and holds the large serving (10 ounces I believe) from my Keurig maker with some cream and room to spare.

This is a nice coffee / tea mug. Big and beautiful. Love the watercolor design. My only wish is the interior is a sort of pinkish purple and not a pretty cardinal red. Really wish it was red rather than the color it is. It is too bad the designer didn't choose a nicer color for the inside to compliment the bird on the outside. However, it is a very nice cup and I might look at other items in the same line.

My husband favorite mug is the red cardinal, but I reach for the bunny or fox. We bought a variety of patterns.Handle design is good and mug has a nice weight. Saw these at a friends house and had to have them in my home too.Dishwasher and microwave safe mugs. They have plates to match which have same colors and quality. Gave some as gifts last Christmas.

My mom absolutely loves this mug and says that the handle does not become heated in the microwave. Also, she said that the mug keeps liquids warmer for longer than a regular mug. The only downfall was that the mug is not smooth all over, it has weird ripples on the bottom of the mug. Not clearly noticeable in the picture.

The mug was beautiful and the recipient is thrilled with it. Worth every penny!
